1) The Dogs formed around 1969 in Lansing, Michigan, influenced by the MC5 and the Stooges, Amboy Dukes, Alice Cooper, they were all about playing with Marshall stacks real real loud. They moved to Los Angeles in '76 and became a fixture on the early LA punk scene.
2) The Dogs, garage rock from Oslo, Norway. They have recorded four albums; "Set Yourself On Fire And Follow The Smoke", "The Tears Are Voodoo", "Black Chameleon Prayer" and "Swamp Gospel Promises". Fronted by Kristopher Schau (Mongo Ninja, The Cumshots, Gartnerlosjen and Hurra Torpedo).
3) The Dogs were an underground phenomenon in Iowa during the 70s, they were a 3 piece band who played loud, raw, pre-punk similar to The Stooges and U.K. bands like Third World War, Hammersmith Gorillas and Crushed Butler. They released one single (Rot 'n' Roll b/w Teen Slime) and recorded a few other studio tracks later released by Rave Up records (Italy) in the late 90s. The band consisted of:
Jody Koenig- Guitar/Vocals
Ole Torvik- Bass/Vocals
and Erik Berg - Drums/Vocals
Greg Knipe was the original drummer, but he left early on to drum for Conway Twitty.
4) The Dogs are a rock band from Chicago, IL. The Dogs are family. Not literally, but close enough. The group has been inseparable since middle school, sharing a deep passion for cooking, Neil Young and making music. The Dogs are spread across the land: vocalist/guitarist Peter Walters in Minneapolis; bassist Matt Bachmann in Washington; vocalist Rivkah Gevinson in Norway; and multi-instrumentalist/producer James Krivchenia in Boston. Despite being separated, the Dogs remained close by exchanging demos. By the time they had reunited for a summer in Chicago, they had accumulated roughly 50 demos and settled on 15 songs to record.
Camping was recorded with a few microphones and a laptop -- with a beer budget that may have been more than a studio budget. Outside of four hours of studio time that the band won from the Chicago Deli's Artist of the Month poll, Camping was recorded completely independently. The final weeks of summer found the Dogs in La Farge, WI, where they holed up in a cavernous garage attic for a last recording stand. After a few bonfires, some fresh veggies from their Amish neighbors, The Dogs finished recording Camping.

Lie to Me
The Dogs Lyrics

When I die will you still say my name
Will my secrets come out in the open or will they remain
Will you remember my mouth and eyes
Will you remember my face at all
Will it be the young or the old me you recall
Lie to me baby
Cause I just can′t handle the truth
Are you still gonna honour my birthdays
When I'm nothing but ashes and dirt
When you remember that you forgot, do you think it′ll hurt
Will you get rid of my books and papers
All my unfinished songs
Will there be somebody there to replace me after I'm gone
Please Lie to me baby
Lie to me baby
Or I won't manage
Lie, lie, lie to me baby
Just lie, lie, lie to me woman
Lie, lie, lie, lie, lie to me baby
Cause I can′t handle the truth
Lie, lie, lie to me baby
Just lie, lie, lie to me woman
Lie, lie, lie, lie, lie to me baby
Cause I can′t handle the truth
Cause I just can't handle the goddamn ugly truth
Lie to me baby
Lie to me baby
Lie to me baby
Lie
Lie
Lie, lie, lie to me baby
Just lie, lie, lie to me woman
Lie, lie, lie, lie, lie to me baby
Cause I can′t handle the truth
Lie, lie, lie to me baby
Just lie, lie, lie to me woman
Lie, lie, lie, lie, lie to me baby
Cause I can't handle the truth
I can′t handle the goddamn ugly truth
The Dogs' song "Lie to Me" is a poignant reflection on mortality, honesty, and the sometimes comforting, sometimes painful nature of the truth. The lyrics begin with the singer addressing a hypothetical person who might tend to their headstone and still say their name after they die. The song puts forth a series of questions that highlight the singer's anxieties around the legacy they will leave behind and how they will be remembered.
The repeated refrain "Lie to me baby / Cause I just can't handle the truth" underscores the singer's desire to be comforted with pleasant stories rather than face difficult realities. The line "Cause I can't handle the goddamn ugly truth" further emphasizes this sentiment. It's a raw and vulnerable plea for human connection and reassurance in the face of mortality.
Overall, "Lie to Me" is a powerful song that speaks to the human condition and our desire for kindness and compassion in the face of life's harsh realities. It's a reminder that we all crave love and understanding, even in our darkest moments.
