Cars Hiss By My Window
The Doors Lyrics

The cars hiss by my window
Like the waves down on the beach
The cars hiss by my window
Like the waves down on the beach
I got this girl beside me, but she's
Out of reach

Headlight through my window
Shinin' on the wall
Headlight through my window
Shinin' on the wall
Can't hear my baby
Though I called and called

Windows started tremblin'
With a sonic boom
Windows started tremblin'
With a sonic boom, boom
A cold girl'll kill you
In a darkened room

Ride
Ride on

The cars hiss by my window
Like the waves down on the beach
The cars hiss by my window
Like the waves down on the beach
I got this girl beside me
But she's out of reach

Headlight through my window
Shinin' on the wall
Headlight through my window
Shinin' on the wall
Can't hear my baby
Though I called and called

Windows started tremblin'
With a sonic boom
Windows started tremblin'
With a sonic boom, boom
A cold girl'll kill you
In a darkened room

Don't crawl at my window
In a cruel morning yard
Don't crawl at my window

In a cruel morning yard
Yes I look you love to keep it
That's morning hard

LA Woman really tears the house down on record, but these alternate versions are as good if not better. It never gets old.

this is a proper blues track!

Kabir Sharma (mystical mind)

No doubt about that. Perfect, gloomy and the right amount on dreamy trippy. Just perfection at it's best. 💙

The last verse the one omitted from the official release is SUPERB! "Dog crawled out my window in the cruel morning yard" he was such a gifted wordsmith this kind of line is typical of the Man's brilliance

massimo bargna

It was the best line of the song.

@elmurf1 Jerry Scheff, what a bass player man. He wrote wonderful bass lines on their last album. Wish he played more with The Doors, it would've been great if he was given the chance to play on some of their previous albums.

elmurf1

Elvis session bassist plays on LA Woman.
