Touch Me
The Doors Lyrics
Yeah
Come on, come on, come on, come on
Now touch me, baby
Can't you see that I am not afraid?
What was that promise that you made?
Why won't you tell me what she said?
What was that promise that you made?
Now, I'm gonna love you
'Till the heavens stop the rain
'Till the stars fall from the sky
For you and I
Come on, come on, come on, come on
Now touch me, baby
Can't you see that I am not afraid?
What was that promise that you made?
Why won't you tell me what she said?
What was that promise that you made?
I'm gonna love you
'Till the heaven stop the rain
I'm gonna love you
'Till the stars fall from the sky
For you and I
I'm gonna love you
'Till the heavens stop the rain
I'm gonna love you
'Till the stars fall from the sky
For you and I

"Touch Me" is a song by The Doors from their album The Soft Parade. Written by Robby Krieger, the riff is influenced by The Four Seasons "C'mon Marianne." It is notable for its extensive usage of brass and string instruments to accent Jim Morrison's vocals (including a powerful solo by featured saxophonist Curtis Amy), and was one of the most popular Doors songs. It was released as a single in December 1968. The song reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 in Cashbox Top 100 in early 1969.

I picture a intense montage of Jim's life and the end when the epic solo, the build up is epic.

Seriously, it is — his voice, the songwriting, the production value of the strings / brass. Amazing.

I dont usually listen to anything other than rap/ hip hop but im a huge fan of this song, it reminds me of spending weekends with my grandad and this would play on the radio in his car every time. Rip gramps ❤️

Amazing how Jim,being drunk during most of the recording sessions still managed to deliver the goods.Even more amazing is how the Doors, with Jim being such a loose cannon, still managed to produce an iconic body of work.
