Hard to Be Around It
The Draft Lyrics

like acid eating me away
Spent all your life on something
just to burn it down to nothing
It got into me today
So what are we waiting on
It's hard just to be around it
Just don't ask for something more
It's everything but open war
And now nothing seems to make sense
and we all get so frustrated
Just don't ask for something more
So what are we waiting on
It's hard just to be around it
It's hard just to be around it
It's hard just to be around it
It's hard just to be around it
It's hard just to be around it
It's hard just to be around it
It's hard just to be around it
The Draft's song "Hard to Be Around It" is a powerful commentary on the struggles of life and the difficulties that come with trying to find meaning and purpose in a world that often seems to be against us. The opening lines of the song, "It got into me today, like acid eating me away," set the tone for the rest of the lyrics, which are filled with vivid and poignant imagery that is both haunting and beautiful.
The song seems to be about the frustration and despair that can come with trying to build something meaningful or worthwhile, only to see it fall apart or be destroyed. The line "spent all your life on something, just to burn it down to nothing" speaks to the heartache of pouring oneself into a project, a relationship, or a personal goal, only to watch it crumble to nothing in the end. The chorus of the song, which repeats the phrase "it's hard just to be around it," seems to encapsulate the sense of helplessness and hopelessness that can come with these experiences.
The second verse of the song speaks to the sense of confusion and disorientation that can arise when one's efforts and aspirations seem to fall apart. The lines "and now nothing seems to make sense, and we all get so frustrated" speak to the sense of bewilderment and frustration that can come with trying to navigate a world that often seems arbitrary and capricious. The final lines of the song again echo the chorus, emphasizing the sense of difficulty and pain that can come with simply existing in a world that can be so challenging to navigate.
Overall, "Hard to Be Around It" is a moving and insightful exploration of some of the most difficult and painful aspects of the human experience. It speaks to the challenges that we all face in our efforts to build meaningful and fulfilling lives, and it offers a sense of empathy and understanding for those who struggle with these issues on a daily basis.

Love this vid! I was having a terrible time at the start of ONE because I thought the colour imbalances meant you should avoid some archetypes. I've been having a lot more success realizing that drafting the open deck is the way to go (duh)! The small differences in power levels (if they are there at all) between archetypes (3-4%) doesn't out way the value of being in an open lane.
