There Goes My First Love
The Drifters Lyrics

There goes my first

There goes my first love,
with the guy i used to call my friend,
there's a love i thought would never end,
and i can't forget her,
my heart is breaking,
when i see her holding hands with him,
care to think of how it might have been,
she's still my first love

My first love is still around,
she never left this part of town,
now i see her most everyday but she don't look my way

There goes my first love,
with the guy i used to call my friend,
there's a love i thought would never end,
and i can't forget her,
my heart is breaking,
when i see her holding hands with him,
care to think of how it might have been,
she's still my first love

She loved me,
but not for long i wish i knew where i went wrong,
now everyday those pretty feet come walking on down the street

There goes my first love,
with the guy i used to call my friend,
there's a love i thought would never end,
and i can't forget her,
my heart is breaking,
when i see her holding hands with him,
care to think of how it might have been,
she's still my first love

X2 to fade.

Same here 😃

Agreed. The 1960s brought us the seismic shift via The Beatles and the Stones, but the bands of the 70s built on that. While I don’t think the best of the 70s ever toppled the best of the 60s, it expanded the horizons of what was possible. It’s the variety of the 70s that is so mind blowing.

@glennismary6699

I am 73 now and my best years were the 60s, the music of The Drifters were and still are my favourite band

@DALEFLY
