1.) The D… Read Full Bio ↴There have been two punk rock bands called the Ducky Boys:
1.) The Ducky Boys are a street punk band from Boston, Massachusetts. Since forming in 1995 in the Charlestown neighborhood of Boston, the band has spanned over ten years with two tenures that have led to four full-length albums and over 50 songs. The band derives its name from the name of an Irish street gang in the 1979 movie, "The Wanderers".
Lead on bass and vocals by band frontman Mark Lind and drums by mainstay Jason Messina, while featuring a rotating cast of guitarists, the band released four full length albums before being put on hiatus in 2007. The band is currently operating on a "part-time" basis, performing a small amount of shows throughout the year, featuring the lineup of Lind, Messina, and Sullivan.
Over the last ten years, the band's sound has evolved from quick punk riffs to more stripped down rock music and a developing message of social consciousness. However, the band's influences, which include Rancid, Social Distortion, The Clash, Bruce Springsteen, and dozens of other punk and rock n' roll bands, still remains a prevalent element in the band's sound.

Stand By Me
The Ducky Boys Lyrics

When the night has come
And the land is dark
And the moon is the only light we'll see
No I won't be afraid, no I won't be afraid
Just as long as you stand, stand by me
Stand by me,
Oh stand right by me
Won't you stand
Stand by me, stand by me
If the sky that we look upon
Should tumble and fall
Or the mountains should crumble to the sea
I won't cry, I won't cry, no I won't shed a tear
Just as long as you stand, stand by me
So darlin', darlin',
Stand by me,
Oh stand right by me
Won't you stand
Stand by me, stand by me
So darlin', darlin',
Stand by me,
Oh stand right by me
Won't you stand
Stand by me, stand by me
Whenever you're in trouble
Won't you stand by me,
Oh stand right by me
Won't you stand now
Stand by me
Stand by me
The Ducky Boys's version of "Stand by Me" is a cover of Ben E. King's original song. The lyrics speak of relying on someone for support during difficult times, and the importance of having someone stand by your side during moments of uncertainty. The opening lines set the scene for a dark and ominous night, where the only source of light is the moon in the sky. Despite this eerie setting, the singer is not afraid, so long as the person they turn to is there to stand by their side.
The chorus of the song repeatedly asks the person they trust to stand by them, with a sense of urgency and desperation. The lyrics warn that the sky may fall, and the mountains may crumble, but as long as this person remains steadfast beside the singer, they will not shed a tear. The final verse of the song serves as a reminder to that person that they need to stand by the singer, no matter what trouble may come their way.
Overall, "Stand by Me" is a moving song that speaks to the need for human connection and support through difficult times. By standing together, we can weather any storm that comes our way.
Line by Line Meaning
When the night has come
At the end of the day when darkness dominates
And the land is dark
When everything around seems uncertain or hopeless
And the moon is the only light we'll see
In the midst of chaos when there is little hope
No I won't be afraid, no I won't be afraid
I won't give in to fear
Just as long as you stand, stand by me
As long as I have your support and love, I am confident
If the sky that we look upon
Even if the world as we know it crumbles apart
Should tumble and fall
Should it all go wrong
Or the mountains should crumble to the sea
If nothing is certain and all seems hopeless
I won't cry, I won't cry, no I won't shed a tear
I won't break down and give up
Just as long as you stand, stand by me
If you continue to support me, I can face anything
Whenever you're in trouble
Anytime you need me
Won't you stand by me,
Will you give me your unwavering support
Oh stand right by me
Stay with me always
Won't you stand
Please continue to support me
Stand by me, stand by me
Stay with me, always be there for me
So darlin', darlin',
My love, my dear
Stand by me,
Support me
Oh stand right by me
Be by my side
Won't you stand
Will you keep supporting me
Stand by me, stand by me
Just stay by my side, be my support system
