Rock And Roll Boogie
The Easybeats Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Listen rockerfella and I'll make you smile
'Cause the rock'n'roll boogie is now back in style
Yes it's rollin' on
Keep on rollin' on

People in the city are hung on the sound
Of the rock'n'roll music they called underground
Yes it's rollin' on
Keep on rollin' on

Last night the wife was dancin' in the street for so long,
Diggin' everything the only way that she know-oh's

Oh one potata two for three potata four
Jerry Lee is gonna come knocking on your door
Yes it's rollin' on
Keep on rollin' on

Keep on rollin' on

Keep on rollin' on

Last night the wife was dancin' in the street for so long,
Diggin' everything the only way that she know-oh's

Oh reelin' and a rockin' we danced all the while
With a long tall Sally spittin' great balls of fire
Yes rollin' on
Keep on rollin' on

Oh everybody's having a good time tonight
With a rock'n'roll music we'll be alright
Yes it's rollin' on
Keep on rollin' on

All the new rockers are doing fine
With a Mr Wilson Pickett the latest in the line
Yes he's rollin' on
A keep on rollin' on

Keep on rollin' on
Keep on rollin'

Vanda & Young thought they would score U.S. hits by American-izing their lyrics, hence the references to "Rockefeller" & "Wilson Pickett". It didn't work except "St. Louis" (a tribute to the big Missouri city) was a minor hit
