1) Established in 2004, the Eighth is a fusion of art and music unique to the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. Relating the contemporary modernity of electronic sound with the classic drama and power of driven, emotional, and occasionally scathing and intensely human lyrics and instruments, The Eighth is a force not to be questioned. It is music designed for the thinkers and dreamers of this generation, combining some of the greatest musical and artistic minds of the area to create intelligent, remarkable, and undeniably strong sound and performance- together. Headed by Shawn L Phillips, whose "no holds barred" approach to creation has brought out the best in his group of producers and live performers, a large team assembled from the best of the best available. The Eighth brings its listeners more than just music or a live performance, but also something which they can relate to and think about, something that will broaden their view of the world, and, in essence, themselves.
2) The Eighth is a NJ based band consisting of four very different teenagers. While still in high school, these kids treat their band like their career. The Eighth is not only young in age ( Alicia Kaustic 16, Billy J 17, Dean O 15, and Just Val 17), the band is also young, with only 9 months in the making. During their short time as a band, The Eighth has opened for nationally touring bands such as Kill Hannah, The Pink Spiders, Love Arcade, and Action Reaction.
3) The Eighth - is a one-man band project from Moscow, founded in 2011. Initially it worked in the boom bap genre, but later its style shifted towards a cinematic sound and complex atmosphere - to abstract hip-hop.

Maybe we've all got masks that we hide behind
Trapped in a lie of this life we keep living
Maybe there's a point that we keep on missing
I was scared of holding on too tight
And now I'm sitting alone in the dead of night
Right now we're all scared
I know I know
We're never prepared
For life's turns and I've
Crashed and I've cried
But I know I know
Today we survived
I'm a shell of a person just skin and bones
I've abandoned what once felt just like my home
Was a fool to think you'd ever understand
But now I'm reaching out desperate for a hand
I was scared of holding on too tight
And now I'm alone in the dead of night
I know I know
Right now we're all scared
I know I know
We're never prepared
For life's turns and I've
Crashed and I've cried
But I know I know
Today we survived
I hate what they've told us
I'll be running free
Well be victorious
We're finding victory
Victory
Victory
We're finding victory
Victory
Victory
I know I know
Right now we're all scared
I know I know
We're never prepared
For life's turns and I've
Crashed and I've cried
But I know I know
Today we survived
I know I know
Right now we're all scared
I know I know
We're never prepared
For life's turns and I've
Crashed and I've cried
But I know I know
Today we survived
The Eighth's song Victory is a powerful and introspective track that explores the complexities of life and the fear of death. The opening lines set the tone for the rest of the song, with the idea that death is permanent and therefore frightening. The second line suggests that we all wear masks or facades to hide our true selves from others. The next line suggests that we may be stuck in a cycle of lies and deceit that we cannot escape, and we might be missing the point of life in the process.
The chorus repeats the phrase "I know I know" and emphasizes that everyone is scared and ill-prepared for the twists and turns of life. However, despite the crashes and tears, the singer knows that they have survived today. The next verse introduces the theme of isolation and abandonment, with the singer feeling like a shell of their former self and having to reach out for help. The bridge expresses frustration with societal expectations and the desire for freedom and victory.
Overall, Victory is a poignant reflection on the human experience and the ways in which we cope with the inevitability of death. The Eighth's lyrics are introspective and thought-provoking, urging listeners to confront their fears and find strength in their survival.
