The band formed in 2011 when Miller left his job as an illustrator for the FX Network series, “Archer,” to team up with Richards, an advertising graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design. Miller and Richards quickly gained a following of local fans after releasing a home-recorded EP under the name “AM83”. Energized by the grass roots success of the EP, the duo set their sights on releasing a follow-up EP. It was during those writing sessions that Miller and Richard’s shared love for electronic music began to influence their writing. The result is their latest self-produced, self-titled EP, The Electric Sons.
Within a week of the band releasing the EP in May of 2012, the Electric Sons were featured on the cover of the national music publication, Indie Music Review Magazine where the EP garnered a 5-star review and critical praise. “From the production quality to the music, vocals, and lyrics: everything is a home run. After only 4 songs they will definitely leave you wanting more, so start it over and play it again!” (IMR, May 2012). The EP gained further momentum when the band was featured as Artist Of The Week on Fanbolt.com (over 130,000 followers).
After playing only two shows in the Spring of 2012, the Electric Sons were invited to play the main stage for Atlanta radio station Star 94's annual music festival. Soon after, the Sons began to headline their own shows at Atlanta’s popular venues including Vinyl, Masquerade, and Smith's Olde Bar. On stage the band brings an electric orgy of synthesized riffs and swirly guitar melodies while Miller’s clean-cut vocal breaks loose and soars high above the tangled web of synchronized beats and processed hooks.
Whether it’s the growl of the fan-favorite track, “Break Away”, or the shimmering luster of the soaring “Kyoto”, listeners of the EP and observers of the band’s live performance agree: The Electric Sons could very well be the first big electronic band to come out of the South.

I was lost like a spark in the stars
There′s a circle underneath
And in the night
They came throught the dark in a tribe
A tribe of wild eyes
So I
Follow
Follow
Them in to the night
And they
Called Out
Called Out
Called Out
What seem to the skies
And I
Followed
Followed
Followed
Them into the night
With a ritual light
Together now
Into the night were calling
Some kind of magic
Into the night were calling
Ohhh
Into the night were walking
Following secrets
Into the night were calling
Ohhh
Talk
Ya we talked of a place out of time
And I turned to wild mind
And you
Followed
Followed
Followed
Me into the night
And we
Called out
Called out
Called out
What seemed to the sky
So you
Follow
Follow
Folllow
Me into the night
With a ritual light
To get us out
Into the night
Were calling
Some kind of magic
Into the night were calling
Ohhhh
Into the night were walking
Following secrets
Into the night were calling
Ohhhh
Lost
I was lost like a spark in the stars
Into the night were calling
Some kind of magic
Into the night were calling
Ohhhh
Into the night were walking
Following Secrets
Into the night were calling
Ohhhh
The lyrics of The Electric Sons's song "Into the Night" tell a story of being lost and finding oneself in a transformative journey. The opening stanza sets the scene of feeling lost, comparing the singer's state to a spark in the vastness of the stars. The mention of a circle underneath suggests a sense of grounding or purpose. Suddenly, a tribe with wild eyes emerges from the darkness, and the singer feels compelled to follow them into the unknown. The repetition of "followed" and "called out" emphasizes the urgency and allure of this new path.
As the journey progresses, the singer engages in a conversation with someone who shares their desire for escape. The mention of a place "out of time" suggests a yearning for freedom from the constraints of everyday life. The repetition of "followed" and "called out" indicates a mutual commitment to this adventurous path. Together, they embrace the unknown and seek to break free from their current circumstances, symbolized by the ritual light they carry.
The chorus serves as a refrain, reaffirming the call to adventure and the allure of the night. The repeated lines, "Into the night we're calling, some kind of magic," evoke a sense of enchantment and the belief that there is something extraordinary awaiting them. The act of walking into the night represents their courage to explore the mysteries and hidden secrets that lie ahead.
In the final stanza, the repetition of the opening lines reinforces the feeling of being lost like a small spark in the vast expanse of the starry sky. However, the chorus returns once more, emphasizing the persistence of their desire to venture into the night. The mention of "following secrets" suggests a sense of intrigue and the belief that there is something profound to be discovered on this journey.
Overall, "Into the Night" tells a tale of finding oneself in the midst of feeling lost, embracing the unknown, and seeking something magical beyond the constraints of ordinary life. It explores themes of curiosity, transformation, and the yearning for adventure.
