Following a limited release of their debut "Fill My Little World" in late 2005, the band entered the UK Top 10 with their first full release "Sewn" in March 2006. The single was one of the year's biggest radio hits, after being played first in the UK on the Dermot O'Leary Show, BBC Radio 2, along with their first live radio session.
Their debut album Twelve Stops and Home was released in the UK on June 5, 2006 and on February 27, 2007 in the US.
February 18th 2008 they released their second album, Join With Us.
Songfacts reports that Set My World On Fire, the first single from their third album, Together We Were Made, was released on May 1, 2011. Seven weeks later, the album was released on June 20, 2011.

Stylisticly, The Feeling have a debt of gratitude to the 70s, particularly bands such as 10cc, Supertramp, Pilot, Buggles, Queen, Stackridge, and other "progressive pop" acts. They are not averse to wearing their heart on their sleeve at gigs, playing covers of tunes by their favourite artists (such as 'Video Killed The Radio Star' by Buggles).
The Feeling have also followed the 'progressive' tradition of the concept album, with Twelve Stops and Home being a concept album about lost and unrequited love. The album starts with a relationship having just broken up, then follows through with the various emotions of the protagonist from hopeless dreamer to turning to drink for comfort, and finally slumping home.

The Feeling Lyrics

I wish it wasn't
I wish that you were mine
I wish that my heart was stronger
My pianos out of tune
I wish it wasn't
I wish we had more time
And I'm on a helicopter
I've had this feeling before
My heart is crawling in the mud, mud, mud
Id feel much better I'm sure if I had a helicopter
This telephone's out of use
I wish it wasn't
I wish you loved me more
I wish that your world was closer
This telephone's out of use
I wish somebody would take me to your door
I wish that my world was finer
And we were on an ocean liner
I've had this feeling before
My heart is crawling in the mud, mud, mud
Id feel much better I'm sure if I had an ocean liner
My pianos out of tune
I wish it wasn't
I wish we had more time
I wish that my world was softer
And I'm on a helicopter
I'm on a helicopter
I've had this feeling before
My heart is crawling in the mud, mud, mud
Id feel much better I'm sure if I had a helicopter, if I had a helicopter
My heart is crawling in the mud, mud, mud
My heart is crawling in the mud, mud, mud
Mud, Mud..
The lyrics to The Feeling's song Blue Piccadilly depict a sense of yearning for something that is out of reach, causing the singer's heart to feel heavy and burdened. The repetition of "my piano's out of tune, I wish it wasn't" could represent the singer's desire for their life to be more in harmony, free of discord or discomfort that may come from something being out of tune. The singer continues to wish for things that they cannot have, such as a stronger heart, more time, and a softer world. The line "I'm on a helicopter" could symbolize a sense of escape from the reality of the situation, a desire to be lifted out of their current circumstances.
The repetition of "I've had this feeling before, my heart is crawling in the mud, mud, mud" highlights the singer's longing for something that seems unattainable, causing their heart to feel heavy, weighed down by the burden of unfulfilled desires. The repeated use of wishes in the lyrics could represent a feeling of powerlessness, as though the singer has no control over the situation they find themselves in.
In summary, Blue Piccadilly by The Feeling conveys a sense of yearning and longing for something that is out of reach, causing the singer's heart to feel heavy and burdened. The lyrics emphasize the singer's desire for harmony and a sense of control over their circumstances, while also highlighting a sense of powerlessness and longing for escape.

Cannot believe this was over a decade ago. Listening at 5am with the moon still up in the morning light. I'd suggest it.

+Chris UK Any international fans, or people who have never visited London (the mega city - visitors welcome, and I have never been mugged!!), Piccadilly is a line on the London Underground, in fact, if I remember correctly, it is a shade of blue, how appropriate!!!
