Following a limited release of their debut "Fill My Little World" in late 2005, the band entered the UK Top 10 with their first full release "Sewn" in March 2006. The single was one of the year's biggest radio hits, after being played first in the UK on the Dermot O'Leary Show, BBC Radio 2, along with their first live radio session.
Their debut album Twelve Stops and Home was released in the UK on June 5, 2006 and on February 27, 2007 in the US.
February 18th 2008 they released their second album, Join With Us.
Songfacts reports that Set My World On Fire, the first single from their third album, Together We Were Made, was released on May 1, 2011. Seven weeks later, the album was released on June 20, 2011.

Stylisticly, The Feeling have a debt of gratitude to the 70s, particularly bands such as 10cc, Supertramp, Pilot, Buggles, Queen, Stackridge, and other "progressive pop" acts. They are not averse to wearing their heart on their sleeve at gigs, playing covers of tunes by their favourite artists (such as 'Video Killed The Radio Star' by Buggles).
The Feeling have also followed the 'progressive' tradition of the concept album, with Twelve Stops and Home being a concept album about lost and unrequited love. The album starts with a relationship having just broken up, then follows through with the various emotions of the protagonist from hopeless dreamer to turning to drink for comfort, and finally slumping home.
Empty Restaurant
The Feeling Lyrics

You're perilous
As anyone pretty as you could be
I′m curious
Adventurous
As anyone as stupid as me could be
Nobody walks into an empty restaurant
Don't think about the things
That you're never gonna have
You′re talking all alone
Just to hear yourself
Nobody walks into an empty restaurant, oh
Wo-oh.
It′s hazardous
It's poisonous
Falling in love had me on my knees
It′s dangerous
Ominous
For anyone trusting as me to be happy
Nobody walks into an empty restaurant
(I won't shame it like the way that you planned it)
Nobody walks into an empty restaurant
(It′d take a genius to understand me)
Don't think about the things
That you′re never gonna have
You're talking all alone
Just to hear yourself
Nobody walks into an empty restaurant, oh
Wo-oh.
Don't think about the things
That you′re never gonna have
You′re talking all alone
Just to hear yourself
Nobody walks into an empty restaurant, oh
Don't think about the things
That you′re never gonna have
You're talking all alone
Just to hear yourself
Nobody walks into an empty restaurant, oh
The Feeling's song Empty Restaurant talks about the dangers and risks of falling in love with someone who might not reciprocate the same level of affection or interest. The lead singer describes the person he is falling for as "treacherous" and "perilous", indicating the potential harm that could come from pursuing a relationship with them. Despite being aware of the risks involved, the singer admits to being "curious" and "adventurous" enough to continue pursuing this person.
The chorus of the song repeatedly emphasizes the point that "nobody walks into an empty restaurant". This metaphorical line refers to the fact that taking a risk, in this case, falling for someone who may not feel the same way, is akin to walking into an empty restaurant when you know there is no chance of being served or getting what you want. The repetition of this phrase throughout the song reinforces the idea of the futility of pursuing something or someone who is ultimately unattainable.
Overall, the song's lyrics carry a message of caution when it comes to matters of the heart. While it is natural to be drawn to people who we find attractive and interesting, it is important to be mindful of the risks involved and consider whether it is worth pursuing something that may never work out in the end.
