Clint's great, don't get me wrong.
He's extremely intelligent, resourceful, and a gifted artist.
He's similar to Duke Wayne in that he makes the best of what he has and achieves mountains with it.
He is not the greatest actor of our time.
Is that so important?

Sergio Leone's A Fistful of Dollars [1964] is based upon a 1929 Big City Gangland novel entitled Red Harvest by Dashiell Hammett, and is the second film based upon it, changing the place & time to the American Old West, c. 1860s.

Meanwhile Leone's Fistfull of Dollars is the first of its own series, following up with two excellent sequels, all centering upon the poncho-wearing lone gunslinger, the "Man with No Name," played legendarily by Clint Eastwood throughout the series, all directed by Leone, Ennio Morricone's scoring, a bonus to them all.

If you listen closely to Schubert's 2nd symphony, 1st movement, you can hear a flute trill just like in A Fistful of Dollars, and another one later the same as the trill in For a Few Dollars More. Coincidence? Very probably, but Ennio had been known to borrow from the classics before. 🎶

I really enjoy the music from this series of movies. I actually didn't get to watch these 3 movies till 2018. I liked the music just didn't care for Clint Eastwood in westerns. I liked him as a police officer/detective...Magnum Force, Dirty Harry series.
