Once Upon A Time In The West
The Filmscore Orchestra - Ennio Morricone Lyrics

I woke and you were there
Beside me in the night
You touched me and calmed my fear
Turned darkness into light
I woke and saw you there
Beside me as before
My heart leapt to find you near
To feel you close once more
To feel your love once more

Your strength has made me strong
Though life tore us apart
And now when the night seems long

Your love shines in my heart
Your love shines in my heart

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to "Once Upon A Time In The West" by Ennio Morricone, as performed by The Filmscore Orchestra, convey a sense of intense longing and emotional connection between two individuals. The opening lines describe waking up to find someone special next to the singer, someone who brings comfort and dispels fear. The touch of this person turns darkness into light, symbolizing their ability to bring positivity and hope into the singer's life.

As the song progresses, it becomes apparent that the singer and this person have been separated by life's challenges. Despite the hardships they have faced and the time they spent apart, their love remains strong. The night, which represents a metaphorical period of difficulty and loneliness, becomes bearable because of the love that still resides in the singer's heart. This love acts as a source of strength, allowing the singer to endure and overcome the struggles they face. It becomes a beacon of light in the darkness, providing comfort and solace.

Several of these (and other Morricone's) themes have been my regular earworms for over fifty years.

Once Upon a Time In the West is just the best soundtrack ever. I used to hold a cassette player to the TV and record the music to listen back to in my bed at night.

@jc940

And that's the way we did it back in the day!

Hey I do the same thing I sleep with this music we have so much in common this is fantastic to hear someone else doing the same thing that I'm doing

@soliv27

Much better than the movie in my opinion. I heard the music long before I watched the movie, and to me the music is way bigger and better, though the movie is ok. But if you love this music don't watch the movie, my two cents..

@soliv27  shut up. Just shut up.
