It's because half of the supposed cases of police brutality that blow up in the U.S. news simply are not, and because virtually none of the people who (unpeaceably) protest have any interest in real police reform, but rather are filled with a blind hatred for all things law-enforcemnt. They don't realize how crucial it is in everyday life, and how good we have it as a result of their presence. Not to invalidate any unjust incidents which absolutely have happened, but I guarantee stuff like what's seen in the above video happen in places like Romania and probably moreso in Russia all the time. China's police are a joke, and quite literally steal from their people. The police in Europe cover up for people sexually assaulting young girls.

The point is, while yes, we should absolutely pursue ways to improve our police force, the bad apples should not be grounds to promote nationwide hatred of them. It's not productive in the slightest.

Giving birth to your child, especially your first, is literally a once in a lifetime experience. It's painful but so joyous. They took that away from a innocent woman. It's disgusting how most cops feel they're above the law themselves.

Just had a baby 4 months ago seeing the amount of pain my wife was in i can't begin to imagine her going throug something like this. I hope this family wins big from the lawsuit, but still it could never change any of it. As a Dad seeing your first child being born is such an amazing feeling, it breaks my heart the dad was not there for it because of this.

Unbelievable. That poor couple. I couldn't imagine going through sometimes so horrific. And they could have been deported. He lost his job and she had to give birth alone and shackled through most of the delivery. Im sure the whole ordeal threw her into labor and then she had to sit alone and scared in that cell after being refused doctor treatment... those cops should be arrested

There need to be civilian review boards everywhere and at every level. Local, state, and federal. With the power to arrest and prosecute LEOs. That’s the only way I see forward in citizens regaining control over “law enforcement” agencies and officers.

We have to pass laws for police to be educated to at least associate degree level and educated in psychology sociology and tested for anger issues and at least a year of training as to de escalated anger and fear. The police are out of control and just killers now.

@Toni no it won't change that but when someone (individual or institution) does something so deplorable then it's only right for there to be consequences and for the wronged party to be compensate. Just because what was taken isn't property or a physical object that can be replaced does not change that. The fact that it's not something that can be changed or replaced actually increases the value.

Now this reminds me of a case that happened with my uncle back in 1998. My uncle came to America and about half a year in, police came to our home while he was outside holding a rocket popsicle in his hand in the middle of summer. Remind you that my uncle is 6”4 and very fit (back then) lol. So cops show up saying someone has been riding a 4 wheeler around the park area which was prohibited. We’re like “ok officer we haven’t seen anyone doing that.” So, then they leave. After a while we noticed my uncle was gone. Nowhere to be found. We called police and nothing. We waited till morning not understanding what’s going on. We haven’t lived in America for too long back then and didn’t know much of the law or how to deal with situations like that. So, next morning we go outside and there’s a long blood trail to the end of the driveway. We find out the police felt threatened by my uncle holding a popsicle “thought it was a gun in their report.” They bashed his head with a flashlight. Those really long, metal one’s. If you remember the flashlights they used back then, then you know how ridiculously heavy they are. In the end the police made up a whole bunch of nonsense. I’m regretting nobody told us to sue them! Would have won! This was Vancouver, WA (Clark County) police. They are crooks!

Omg this is outrageous! How devastating and barbaric! How painful! Now every single time she thinks about the birth of her first child and possibly her only child, it will be marred with all she had to endure and without her husband to be there with her! It is actually quite possible that the stress of the ordeal is what put her into labor! This poor family! From the very beginning they should have took more time to announce their presents as well as making it clear that they were the police! It takes more than 27 seconds to get to the door, especially if you are across the house or upstairs or heavily pregnant! They should be greatly compensated and a very public apology issued! I’m just absolutely horrified and enraged for her! All around unacceptable! Oh an then after this whole ordeal and trauma to which she had no charges an was innocent! They tried to deport her! Was it not enough that you marred her experience of having her first child, but then directly after having her first child you try to do something like that to her! How inhumane to treat this innocent woman like this! Everybody involved should be fired and the people who took a lesser role should be retrained very intensively! Shame on you all for your disgusting behavior and judgement! I would’ve lost my job if I was an officer handling her case! I could not have stood by and let her be treated so! All this for a snow blower. Why couldn't two officers go to the house and talk to them. And find out what was going on. You don't need a search warrant for that.
Story time:. Two detectives went to my brothers house cause someone told them my brother had a stolen outbound motor. He answered the door and they told him why they were there. My brother said you can look everywhere you want I don't have it. They looked in his house his shed his vehicles and didn't find it. Nobody got shot or arrested. My brother found out later that a person he knew had been arrested and was trying to get a lesser jail time and said my brother did it. There was a motor that was stolen but my brother didn't do it. If the police had gotten a search warrant who knows my brother could have been killed.

I sure hope that there is a BIG settlement here. I understand that under the circumstances it is possible that the inhabitants would have both been killed (after all, the homeowner did fire first and while WE know the reason, the cops could not know the reason at the time) but the treatment of the pregnant woman was atrocious behavior. This is yet another example of why more and more people HATE the police. The store should be sued as well. They were the ones that precipitated this mess.

@Boomer Yeah okay, I’m sure it’s just a few… 🙄 but even if that was true (it’s not) then they have made the whole rot spread throughout the barrel. And remember these are just the ones we know about.. how many people are railroaded because in court whatever the cop says happened, is what they will believe has happened.. there is no such thing as innocent til proven guilty in this country. We lock up more people than Stalin ever did at the height of the gulag system, and currently lock up more than China despite the population differences. Oh, and that’s not including the people who are on probation or parole supervision.

I know a girl who is on probation and she accidentally broke her phone around 3:30 PM one day waiting for the bus to go to work. The next morning she gets a new phone and immediately calls her PO to tell him. He violates her for “changing number without advance notice “ and she gets a 60 day sentence. But the fines don’t stop while she’s in. And now she doesn’t have a job when she gets out but owes $300 because she missed two payment plan payments. If that’s not paid, back to jail for her. Yet these criminal cops and prosecutors do whatever they want whenever they want and never face any repercussions except maybe a taxpayer funded vacation.

There was the aggressive pounding on the door to deliver a search warrant prior to this military style raid with apparently really crappy police work. I hope they sue the pants off that police department! The husband, and engineer lost his job for nothing. A pregnant woman giving birth is supposed to be the most wonderful and exciting part of a married couples life and the police destroyed both of their lives. All could have been avoided if the detective just knocked on the door and explained why he was there. There was absolutely no reason for the police to shoot at the house. There was no reason to believe that they were in any danger. And all because of a snowblower. Can you imagine if they had shot the wife or the husband? Can you imagine if the wife or husband died over a misunderstanding ? if the detective had been patient after knocking at the door and explained who he was or if the police had pulled up in front of a couple could see the police cars none of that would’ve happened. There is no way, if I was that woman, that I would just let that go. Please so that the police department! Sometimes people have to be punished to learn a lesson these officers were dead wrong

yeah, i mean lets say someone else stole that snowblower, that guy would probably go to court eventually, pay a fine and/or serve with community service, and that'd be it, it's a freaking snowblower, how big of a deal does it have to be? and for a lack of evidence, or failed investigation to lead to an armed raid like that? you'd think the detectives would do their job properly and find the real criminal, no way that guy was the only one to use a gift card or online service like that. it's just ridiculous that they'd put two and two together like that and decide to show up armed. the pregnant lady also didn't do ANYTHING wrong, she didn't shoot at anyone, and it wasn't even her purchase. look at all the riots happening right now, people stealing from stores all the time, yeah it's bad, they should pay for the item's value and damages, and maybe an extra fine, but does that mean a gunfight needs to happen? no, it's absurd, and a waste of human resources. all those cops and detectives could be saving lives, instead they're fighting over a snowblower?! what the heck?

Using miscarriage in a statement dealing with a pregnant women is great writing and makes for an impact because it makes things that much more real. However it is a sad truth that many Americans read at a very low level and often skin over things. Read thorough the comments on the whole video and you will see how many people mix up the facts. So when communicating I think that we should consider who is listening and make sure they understand. Lofty and bombastic language can be fun and makes for a great point often times. However, Kavami if you think that a 10th of people in this world have your level of education and understanding of the English language you are wrong.

The only problem I have with being awarding a huge sum of money, which they do deserve, is that the tax payers pay for it. I think the FOP or the cops involved pay for their bad judgements. Qualified immunity shouldn't cover idioatic police work.
