Blob
The Five Blobs Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And leaps and glides and slides
Across the floor
Right through the door
And all around the wall
A splotch, a blotch
Be careful of The Blob
The song "Beware of The Blob" by The Five Blobs is a warning about a mysterious creature that slowly slithers and moves across the room like a blob. The creature seems to be able to effortlessly pass through any obstacles that come its way, even sliding right through doors or crawling up walls. The lyrics urge listeners to be cautious of this creature, which leaves a splotchy, blotchy trail wherever it goes.
One possible interpretation of these lyrics is that The Blob represents something unknown or unpredictable that we should be wary of. It could be a metaphor for the dangers that surround us in everyday life, whether that's physical threats, emotional uncertainty, or even existential dread. The song implores us to be watchful and avoid getting too close to things that we don't fully understand.

For a novelty song it's very well written with a great melody . The singing is perfect, too. I love it.

R.I.P., Burt Bacharach (1928-2023.) This was one of Burt's first co-composed songs with Mack David to make the top 100. Burt would eventually compose most of his hit songs with Mack's brother Hal David.

It took a real musical genius to make a potentially annoying novelty song such a genuinely enjoyable bop instead. Thanks for this one as well Burt!
