To The Aisle
The Five Satins Lyrics

First a boy and a girl meet each other
Then they sit down to talk for a while
In your heart, you'll want her for a lover
While each step, draws you closer to the aisle

You may start with a simple conversation
My darling, please put me on trial
She says, yes and your heart starts beating
While each step, draws you closer to the aisle
You ask her if she loves you she answers, "I do"
Your heart starts glowing inside
And then you will know she is just for you
While each step, draws you closer to the aisle

Then you put a ring on her finger
And the tears start flowing awhile
Then you'll know she's yours forever
While each step, draws you closer to the aisle

She says, yes and your heart starts beating
While each step, draws you closer to the aisle

This is just such a beautiful song.  I was born in 1969, but I could listen to doo wop every day!

I was born in 1955. My older sister had the 45 so I’ve heard “To The Aisle” my whole life. It is such a beautiful song, lyrics, vocals and the instruments. A perfectly sweet love song.

Keep listening, so much of life's wisdom. Check out Jimmie Rodgers Honeycomb, the Wizard and Kisses Sweeter than Wine...

I was born in 85 and this is pure soul food for me. I LOVE oldies. Even stuff like doc Boggs. I’m a hopeless romantic in secret haha. I want to slow dance in the kitchen to this music but my partner is not like that at ALL. I also like metal, classical, and everything in between. But there is something so comforting to oldies. The inlet thing comparable is country or the violin/cello. Pure soul food.

I was born in 69’ also, and I love the oldies too!! Great music for sure!

I agree with you, and I do listen to a little doo-wop nearly everyday thanks to retirement and YouTube. Love this song btw. 3/2020
