It's the song that got me too. When it was new I had it on tape on my boombox. I played it over and over. Most instructive part is when he shouts out "he brave." " Secret Seperation" is an ode to failed love, we all know that. The Fixx should have called it "Killer Profound."

Absolute genius from the summer of 1986. A major hit it would reach #19 on the US singles charts, went all the way to #1 on the Rock Radio charts and was a Top 20 video on MTV. I adore this band and how classy and intelligent and arty they were. I saw them on this tour in Philly.

First band I've ever met in person....Kemp mill records , Columbia Maryland in 1983 for album signing of Reach the Beach. I was only 13 but knew that they were kinda high that day . I know what you mean. Even though I'm aware that they were pretty big at home, they weren't an overseas success such as many of their contemporaries. For example, they are still very little known here in Brazil. Even the records were hard to find, not many were officially released, and those who knew their music did it by exchanging cassettes, mostly. Great injustice, they were excellent.

I was born in 81. This sound has stuck with me my entire life and up until about 6 years ago, I never knew who was responsible. I LOVE THE FIXX; 80s music in general. Fast forward and I now realize, how music(specifically the 80s sound) pushed my feelings into high and low places, before I even knew what "feelings" were. At this point, music is the only way I truly reconnect with those memories and senses. The joy of my youth. I can recall the feeling of summer at 3 years old in this sound. Traveling home on a country road in the hitch of Pops truck, after a full day of rides and French Fries at Ocean City. Wearing swimming trunks all day. Grown men in the shortest shorts you can imagine, on boats getting hammered off Busch. Mullets under pink neon ball caps. Riding bikes to our Little League and Soccer games. (I grew up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Country living). If im saying anything, I'm saying that for some of us(not many but some) the 80s was magical and it lives in songs by bands like The Fixx.

My very favorite song by The fixx. They were quite popular ,my husband Jorge and I love them. I just found out today The fixx is going to be playing near me next month, I want to go! may Jorge rest in peace.

Another 80's gem. Wonderful song. There were so many great artists and songs coming out constantly in the 80's. There was new and young artists making original music as well as the older 60's and 70's artists still coming up with new and creative music. It was a time of creativity mixed with commercialism at it's peak. Every time you turned around there was something new and wild. It truly was the last fun , innocent and free time to be alive. What a time to be young....I think back and i feel fortunate that i grew up in that era. It was so good it can make you cry when you think back to how amazing those times were. And then bam it was over and the 90's came and things started to change and the innocence and fun just wasn't the same.

Wow, at my age in late 50s, I can only muster a smile of appreciation for such an underrated song I listened to in its' inception ( 1980s')
I believe author Dr. Seuss was quite accurate when he said "..
" Sometimes you will never know the value of something, until it becomes a memory "
Anyway, ..not only was the lyrical depth much better than most of todays superficial trends., but reminds us of a unique musical era..that probably never received ..legit..credit-- where credit was due

The imagery of man forever walking this eternally revolving wheel, the ostensibly emotionless 'higher' being controlling all from his vantage point, and the artist to reveal the beauty of the journey from one state to the other, with a single phrase to trigger the memory of all the the things we have experienced: "I'll bear one precious scar and only you will know it's there"...Beautiful video, beautiful song.

Amazing song. It pretty much says what I've always wanted to say to the love of my life. We ended up married to different people but I've never stopped loving her, desperately. She told me once "you missed your chance. If you ever read this, "YH", yes it's you. I love you.
