A Spoonful Weighs a Ton
The Flaming Lips Lyrics

And though they were sad
They rescued everyone
They lifted up the sun
A spoonful weighs a ton

Giving more than they had
The process had begun
A million came from one
The limits now were none
Being drunk on their plan
They lifted up the sun

Forcing it off with their hands
The trap door came undone
Above our heads it swung
The privilege had been won

Being drunk on their plan
They lifted up the sun

Yelling as hard as they can
The doubters all were stunned
Heard louder than a gun
The sound they made was love

There's something late Led Zeppelin-esque about those drums and I LOVE it ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿค˜๐Ÿป๐ŸŽถ

Wayne's quote from Staring At Sound:

"'Spoonful' has to be, not the day of the funeral, but the day my dad died, when all these people got together to bring us food and stuff. It is such a little thing to do, but the meaning is huge. People are just saying, 'We are here and we are in this thing together.' That's what the spoonful is."

Mastodon really did a nice job covering this.

Itโ€™s electric zeppelin at some point, right?

Gungrinner

Yes they did. I wasnโ€™t aware of it until they did it. Much respect.

I sifted through some "top psychedelic songs" videos that had been posted. ย I'm very disappointed that people don't realize that psychedelic music didn't end in the seventies, and that some of the most critically-acclaimed bands of our generation are immensely psychedelic. ย I really wish this stuff was more mainstream, though. ย I'd like to live in a world where The Flaming Lips and Animal Collective are recognized for the geniuses they are.
