By the late 40s the girls were singing with Perry Como on his radio show, followed him to TV and sang on many of his records from 1949 through 1953, many of which were monster hits. The Fontane's were also signed to an artist's contract with RCA which was Perry's label.
At least 4 of their recordings landed on the Billboard Top 30 charts.
In 1954 the Fontanes left RCA and signed with Randy Wood's Dot Records. Their first single for the label was a remake of an early 20th century hit HAPPY DAYS AND LONELY NIGHTS. The record charted at number 18 in Billboard and their hit string began. One of their follow up releases, HEARTS OF STONE, not only established them as recording stars, but also topped the Billboard charts. By the end of their chart career in 1959, the Fontanes had placed 24 singles on the Billboard Pop charts. A number of others were also listed on the Cashbox charts at a time when they ran to 40 or 50 places while Billboard charts had between 20 and 30 positions.

You're adorable, a dream boy to me
You're all that I hope my love would ever be
You're so lovable, here in my arms
You're so kissable, when I hold your charms
You're mine, you are so divine
My adorable one
You must have come from heaven
Because you thrill me so
Heaven starts at seven sharp
You start my heart to glow, glow, glow
You're so lovable, so warm, so nice
You're excitable, when kissed once or twice
And soon you'll be mine alone
You adorable one
(Repeat)
The Fontane Sisters' "Adorable" is a bubbly, happy-go-lucky song about a young woman's infatuation with her boyfriend, who she describes as "adorable" and "lovable." Through her lyrics, she gushes about the qualities that make him such an attractive partner, such as his kindness, charm, and excitement.
From the beginning, it's clear that the subject of this song is quite special to the singer. His "sweet" and "dreamy" nature embodies all of her hopes and desires in a romantic partner, and she can't help but feel overjoyed when she's around him. As she holds him in her arms, she's able to fully appreciate how lovable he is, and kissing him gives her an inexplicable rush of excitement.
The singer is obviously head-over-heels for her boyfriend, and it's evident in the way she talks about him throughout the song. With its upbeat, catchy tune and sweet lyrics, "Adorable" is a charming tribute to young love.
