Ground Zero
The Foreshadowing Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Frenzy in my heart
Every second is an earthquake
Cars and traffic lights
Someone racing after something
A rain of dust is in front of our eyes
Not far away from here the earth's breaking down
Sun of winter, rain of dust
Whispering we call our last goodbye, goodbye
Mounts of fire, storm from the west
Whispering we call our last goodbye, goodbye

All our plans and deals
All our memories in the pipeline
We cannot see it clear
'Cause the skyline don't belong to us
Not far away from here the earth's shaking more

Sun of winter, rain of dust
Whispering we call our last goodbye, goodbye

Mounts of fire, storm from the west
Whispering we call our last goodbye, goodbye

Overall Meaning

The Foreshadowing's song "Ground Zero" is an emotional and haunting portrayal of a catastrophic event, likely referring to the destruction caused by the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. The lyrics describe a feeling of panic and chaos, with the singer's heart in a "frenzy" and every second feeling like an "earthquake". The imagery of cars and traffic lights implies the sense of urgency and chaos, as if people are racing to escape danger or find loved ones amidst the chaos.

The line "a rain of dust is in front of our eyes" could be a reference to the clouds of debris and smoke that filled the sky surrounding Ground Zero. The following line "not far away from here the earth's breaking down" adds to the sense of impending doom and destruction. The repetition of the phrase "whispering we call our last goodbye" emphasizes the weight of finality and the idea that people were saying their goodbyes to loved ones and potentially facing their own mortality.

The second verse continues to paint a picture of devastation, with the singer reflecting on how all of their plans and memories are now lost due to the destruction of the city. The line "we cannot see it clear 'cause the skyline don't belong to us" implies a sense of loss and displacement, as the familiar landscape is irrevocably changed.

Overall, "Ground Zero" is a powerful and evocative song that captures the fear, chaos, and tragedy of a catastrophic event.

They actually have this recorded. I got a free CD compilation of MBR bands and the studio version is on it

Cosminen

Wow, Pretty good! :)

RagingDong

Not a bad band. Could do with having some faster tempo in places. Metalblade should get one or more of the best songs recorded with good audio.

Nic Baize

I like how people talk about how this song is too slow. Of course it's going to be slow. This is Doom.

kronvlat

a label posting a bootleg?

ThatOnePerson

This is a freaking bootleg people, get over it. Yes, it sucks that a record label would upload a bootleg with bad audio, but don't blame the band. The band is incredible, and yes, it's slow because they have a doom influence. Not every metal song has to be fast with grunts all over. If you don't like it, it's ok, just change the video, don't bash the band
