Stranger In Paradise
The Four Aces (Vocals) Lyrics

I'm a stranger in paradise
All lost in a wonderland
A stranger in paradise
If I stand starry-eyed
That's the danger in paradise
For mortals who stand beside an angel like you
Out of the commonplace into the rare
Somewhere in space I hang suspended
Until I know there's a chance that you care
Won't you answer this fervent prayer
Of a stranger in paradise?
Don't send me in dark despair
From all that I hunger for
But open your angel's arms
To this stranger in paradise
And tell him that he need be
A stranger no more
The song "Stranger in Paradise" by The Four Aces is a romantic ballad about falling in love with someone who seems to be out of reach or unattainable. The singer, who is lost in a dreamlike world or paradise, admits their own vulnerability in the presence of the person they are addressing. The opening line of the song, "Take my hand," invokes a sense of trust and intimacy from the listener, as the singer admits to being a stranger in this new and magical place.
The song uses metaphors of ascending and being suspended in space, as if the singer has been transported to a higher realm by their love for this person. The line "For mortals who stand beside an angel like you" reinforces the idea of the person being addressed as otherworldly or divine. Ultimately, the singer is hoping for a chance at a romantic relationship with this person, and pleads with them to open their heart and arms to the possibility.

Take my hand
Please let me lead the way
I'm a stranger in paradise
I feel like I've entered a new world
All lost in a wonderland
I'm dazzled and confused by what I see
A stranger in paradise
I'm a foreigner in this beautiful place
If I stand starry-eyed
If I gaze with amazement all around me
That's the danger in paradise
I might be too awestruck to see the risks
For mortals who stand beside an angel like you
It's overwhelming to be near someone so perfect
I saw your face and I ascended
Your beauty lifted me up
Out of the commonplace into the rare
I've never seen anything like you
Somewhere in space I hang suspended
I'm in a state of weightlessness and wonder
Until I know there's a chance that you care
I'll float here until I know you might want me too
Won't you answer this fervent prayer
Please respond to my passionate request
Of a stranger in paradise?
I'm a foreigner in your world, please accept me
Don't send me in dark despair
Don't make me feel hopeless and alone
From all that I hunger for
Please fulfill my longings
But open your angel's arms
Please embrace me
To this stranger in paradise
I'm not from here, but I want to belong with you
And tell him that he need be
Let me know I'm wanted
A stranger no more
I want to be accepted and loved in this new world

Take my hand,
I'm a stranger in paradise -
All lost in a wonderland,
A stranger in paradise.
If I stand starry eyed
That's a danger in paradise
Mortals who stand beside
An angels like us -
I saw her face
And I ascended
Out of the common place,
Into the rarest
Somewhere in space ....
I hang suspended?
Until I know
There's a chance that she cares.
Won't you answer this fervent prayer?
Of a stranger in paradise!!
Don't send me in dark despair!!
From all that I hunger for?
But open your angel's arms,
To this strangers in paradise
And tell us that we need be
Strangers no more!!
I saw her face,
And I ascended
Out of the common place
Into the rarest -
Somewhere in space
I hang suspended
Until I know -
There's a chance that she cares
Won't you answer this fervent prayer?
Of a stranger in paradise
Don't send me in dark despair
From all that I hunger for
But open your angel's arms
To this strangers in paradise
And tell us that we need be
Strangers no more .....

No. The opera world knows well the "Prince Igor" by Borodin and the leitmotiv of the opera has been used for "stranger in paradise" song. The point is: whatever is russian origin is not easily accepted...more the mass has no knowledge of classic music.
