Love Is Here To Stay
The Four Freshmen Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

It's very clear, our love is here to stay
Not for a year but ever and a day
The radio and the telephone and the movies that we know
May just be passing fancies and in time may go

But oh, my dear, our love is here to stay
Together we're going a long, long way
In time the Rockies may crumble, Gibraltar may tumble
They're only made of clay
But our love is here to stay

In time the Rockies may crumble, Gibraltar may tumble

They're only made of clay
But our love is here to stay

You sound like a wife in a million. Blessings to you both.

@Gigmeister1

One of the greatest vocal groups ever. This tune, from their seminal album, "The Four Freshmen with Five Trombones" was the record that inspired Brian Wilson to combine their harmonies with Chuck Berry rhythm tracks. The result- The Beach Boys sound. Barney Kessel is the guitarist on the record.

Absolutely magnificent. Great singers singing great songs.

@StripeRich

I was privileged to see these original guys in concert (1958 ?). The new Four sound equally good, but how can you go wrong with those harmonies.
