Galactic Cowboys were a heavy metal band based in Houston, Texas. They combined progressive metal with a style of vocals influenced by The Beatles and the heavy playing style of thrash bands such as Anthrax.
Galactic Cowboys was formed in 1989/1990 in Houston, Texas by bassist Monty Colvin and singer drummer Alan Doss, after being together in The Awful Truth. After that band broke up, they added singer Ben Huggins and guitarist Dane Sonnier. They tried to use the name Houston Astros but changed it to GC when they find out that one was taken.
In 1990, the band was signed to DGC and released their eponymous debut album in 1991. Despite some favorable criticism, the band was ignored by the label due to the success of Nirvana's Nevermind during that same time. After poor sales and some touring, they returned to the studio and released Space In Your Face in 1993. The album garnered some minor hits for the band with "If I Were A Killer" and "I Do What I Do", both of which received regular airplay at MTV and the now-defunct radio station ZROCK respectively. At this point, the band was dropped from DGC and guitarist Dane Sonnier left the band.
The band reorganized with Wally Farkas on guitars and a new deal with Metal Blade Records, and released their third album (Machine Fish) in 1996. That same year they also released an EP titled Feel The Rage that included some original songs, two covers and two live tracks. In 1997, they followed with The Horse That Bud Bought which was a minor departure into a toned-down style.
At this point, Alan Doss decided to leave the band to dedicate to other projects. However, they still worked together in the recording of their 1998 follow-up, At The End Of The Day. Erick Tatuaka was hired to fill in for Doss during their subsequent tour, but was not considered an official member of the band.
In 2000 the band announced the release of their last album titled Let It Go. The album included lead vocal contributions from all members. Even though former drummer Alan Doss did some backing vocals and worked with the mixing of the album, most of the drumming duties were handled by Jerry Gaskill (King's X), a good friend of the band.
As of 2006, the former members of the band continue to be active in the music scene.

Possessions cannot fill the need I see before me, it's up to me
I saw a little boy with blisters on his feet
I saw a man without legs reaching out for me
I've got no problems, no, no, not with you
I've got no problems, yes, yes, yes, it's true
I've got no reason, reason to complain
Home is where the heart is, hearts with no place to live
I watch the suffering, I see the pain before me, it's up to me
I saw a little girl begging on the street
I saw a lady crying, tears fall for me
I've got no problems, no, no, not with you
I've got no problems, yes, yes, yes, it's true
I've got no reason, reason to complain
I've got no problems, I've got no right
Given all that I have in the palm of my hand
There's still a little boy with blisters on his feet
There's still a lady crying, tears fall for me
I've got no problems, no, no, not with you
I've got no problems, yes, yes, yes, it's true
I've got no reason, reason to complain
I've got no problems, I've got no right
The song "No Problems" by The Galactic Cowboys is a powerful commentary on the disparity of wealth and resources in society. The lyrics suggest that despite having material possessions, such as those that can fit in the palm of one's hand, these items cannot fill the greater need that exists before them. The singer goes on to describe encounters with individuals who are in extreme need, such as a little boy with blisters on his feet or a man without legs, and feels the weight of the responsibility to address these issues.
The chorus reiterates the idea that the singer has no right to complain or feel discontent with their own circumstances, as there are others who are facing much greater challenges. The lyrics suggest that the focus should be on addressing these problems and helping those who are less fortunate, rather than being consumed with one's own problems. Ultimately, the song encourages listeners to take action and make a difference in the world around them.
