G.A.M.E
The Game Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Live now, die later, flood or clock the shit out of haters
Got niggers' trying to 'Kiss the Game Goodbye' like Jada
Get your shit pushed back like Jada's CD
I'll put your brains on that Kenwood TV
So you can see hell in 3D, it's right there dog
And the Game behind the Desert is a nightmare dog
If it's pussy, I might share it dog, beef I'm right here dog
I'm on the block, white Nike Airs on
Gucci check, Coogi sweat, they wanna know
If 22's on the truck, give me coochie yet
But I come through in the new GS with two, three tecs
Got niggas Harlem Shakin like the new G. Dep
Tryin to read my whole script, but ain't seen the movie yet
Better have that Glock stuffed tonight
I'm comin through with Young Noble, and we, gon', make, it
A block bust tonight

Getting American Money Easy, all I know
The Gangsta All Motherfuckers Envy, all my dough
It's a West coast knot, watch, let it bang out
Shots range out, for all the gangsta hangouts

Getting American Money Easy, all I know
The Gangsta All Motherfuckers Envy, all my dough
It's a West coast knot, watch, let it bang out
Shots range out, for all the gangsta hangouts

Lace your tips, polish your gators, we like odds in Vegas
You can't ball? Then it's probably the haters
Can't breathe then it's probably the Desert, if you a gangsta or not
I give a fuck dog, bullets is hot
And every nigga gon' cry when he hit, the more pain
The more blood drain, he ain't survivin shit
And your niggas ain't gon' ride for shit, they know
If they came through everybody in the X-5 is hit
Red rag or blue rag, niggas die for this
The Game the reason all these niggas on that "Cali Love" shit
Compton niggas get grimy too, pull you out of that 6
Fuck you up like one time'll do
And I dare y'all to stop on the 'Shaw, and King Boulevard
Comin hard, Doogie Howser pullin bullets out your jaw
Turn your round trip into a one-way ticket
You can visit, but you can not lie and kick it

Getting American Money Easy, all I know
The Gangsta All Motherfuckers Envy, all my dough
It's a West coast knot, watch, let it bang out
Shots range out, for all the gangsta hangouts

Aiyyo, we left a stain on your block, you came with a cop
Pointin fingers at them niggas, that kept shit hot
Next to 'Pac, I'm the hottest thang out, homey we can bang out
Outlaw air it out, box 'em in, square it out
Learn about your whereabouts and we right there
Me and Game have you left right there
N-O-B-L-E, O-U-T-L-A-W-Z
We bubble with ease, and I double my cheese
I got niggas out in Compton that'll find yo' ass
I got niggas out in Jersey, that'll hide yo' ass
For a long time if you ever fuckin with mine
It's a thin line dog between the real and the fraud
We killin your squad, my homeboy still in the yard
You the type of motherfucker standin next to the God
The Game is deep, you motherfuckers ain't the streets
Young Noble and the homey Game flamin heat, c'mon

Getting American Money Easy, all I know
The Gangsta All Motherfuckers Envy, all my dough

It's a West coast knot, watch, let it bang out
Shots range out, for all the gangsta hangouts

Overall Meaning

In "G.A.M.E.", The Game incorporates a range of themes and motifs,
including street life, gang culture, and the harsh realities of life on the West Coast. The lyrics are
filled with violent imagery, including references to guns, gangs, and murder, and the rapper appears to
be positioning himself as the ultimate street fighter. He raps about the importance of living in the
moment, warning that everyone will die eventually, and discusses his love of material possessions, such
as designer clothes and expensive cars. At the same time, however, he recognizes that his success and
money have made him a target, and that he must always be prepared for any threats or challenges that
come his way, often through violence.

In the second half of the song, The Game is joined by Young Noble of the Outlawz, and they trade brutal
verses filled with threats and bravado, demonstrating the code of the streets and the loyalty you have for
your own. With this song, The Game is presenting himself as a leader of gangsta rap, embracing the roots of
the genre while pushing it into new and even darker places.

How Avon just swagger his way through the field while the game was still in session shows how respected he is. This is where Marlo differed. He was feared. Respect last longer than fear.

Jack Jackson

Marlo was largely feared because he had Snoop and Chris. Without those two, I would love to see him try to mess with Avon in jail.

Jack Jackson

I love how someone gets on the comments section for The Wire videos and suddenly they're the most gangster person on the face of the planet.

Jack Jackson

Yes, I realize this. There's literally NO middle ground of any kind in The Wire comments section though. It's either intellectual or completely fake gangster wanna-be.

Justin 420

fear last forever .. respect and fear go hand to hand . remember that when you get on your knees and pray. .. you fear God or you respect him ? my guess is You fear him . so you have to get on your knees lol or you gonna go to hell .

This series is out of this world as a whole, but Avon Barksdale might be the best performed character I've ever seen. Not just the conversation or the body language ... but the man tells tales with his eyes. In retrospect, Wood Harris deserves an Emmy for this.

Sean Matyas

Insert Actor's Name deserved an emmy for this.

The Wire got screwed completely when it came time for awards.

The wire was not only the best art on the screen that year, maybe ever. It is fantastic when you find details like Harris's acting, or the subtle writing, but as you focus out it is amazing by the episode, by the season, and as a whole series.
