The Game Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Ay, my nigga, do you know this nigga?
Who?
This nigga right there, nigga
Hell nah
Turn that mothafuckin' music down and pass me my mothafuckin' heat, blood
This nigga walk up on this mothafuckin' car, I'mma smoke his ass
What's brackin' nigga?
Which one of you niggas fucking my bitch? Must be one of you Compton niggas
You must not know who the fuck you're talkin' to
Whatchu gon' do, nigga?

Overall Meaning

The opening track of The Game's debut album, "The Documentary," is titled "Intro To The Documentary." This track is a short skit featuring two unnamed individuals having a conversation. The conversation takes place in Compton, California, and the two individuals are discussing an unknown person. The first person asks the other if they know the individual, to which the other person responds negatively. The first person then becomes aggressive and demands that the music be turned off so that they can get their gun. They plan to shoot the unknown person if they approach their car.

The conversation then shifts to an angry man claiming that one of the Compton natives is sleeping with his girlfriend. The second individual responds aggressively, indicating that the man does not know who he is talking to. The skirmish ends with the aggressive individual asking what the other is going to do about it. This skit sets the tone for the rest of the album, which is essentially a love letter to Compton, focusing on the hardships that the people have faced while growing up there.
