1. Jayceon Terrell Taylor (born November 29, 1979 in Compton, California, United States), better known by his stage name Game, formerly known as The Game, is an American Grammy Award winning gangsta rapper signed to Aftermath Entertainment through his own label Black Wall Street Records, with which he founded with his half brother Big Fase 100. He rose to fame in 2005 with the success of his debut album, The Documentary, and his two Grammy nominations. Since then he has released several other critically acclaimed albums, 2006's Doctor's Advocate and 2008's LAX. The RED Album was released August 23, 2011. All of his four albums debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 100, and he is widely considered to be a driving force in bringing back the West Coast hip hop scene and competing with many of his East Coast counterparts.
Studying various influential rap albums, Game developed a strategy to become a rapper himself and with help from Big Fase, they founded The Black Wall Street Records. The label originally featured such artists as Glasses Malone, Vita, and Nu Jerzey Devil, along with Game himself. His stage name was coined by his grandmother. Game first gained prominence when he attended a hip-hop summit hosted by Russell Simmons and Louis Farrakhan, releasing his first mixtape You Know What It Is Vol. 1 in 2002, followed by a record deal with the independent label, Get Low Recordz owned by JT the Bigga Figga. Originally Sean Combs of Bad Boy Records was going to sign him to his label, but Game's mixtape found the attention of famed producer Dr. Dre, who signed him to Aftermath Entertainment in 2003. In October 2004, he released his first album Untold Story through Get Low Recordz, which sold over 82,000 copies within its first three months. The album featured artists like Sean T, Young Noble (of the Outlawz), and JT the Bigga Figga. Game also appeared on various mixtapes hosted by DJ's such as DJ Kayslay, DJ Whoo Kid, and DJ Clue. Game also released a second mixtape You Know What It Is Vol. 2 through his own record label and appeared on the video game NBA Live 2004 on a song produced by Fredwreck called "Can't Stop Me". On January 24th, 2011, he released a mixtape entitled, "Purp & Patron."
2. A British 60s Band formed by Terry Spencer in 1965. Head guitar: Terry Spencer Bass guitar: Allan Janaway Drums: Terry Goodsell Vocals: Tony Bird Their biggest success was their first single PlayGonna Get Me Someone from 1966. They attracted attention in 1967 with their recording of The Addicted Man which was concerned with drug-taking. The single should not be released.
3. A French new wave band from the 80’s coming from the suburbs of Paris. It’s line up was : Marc Dimitri (Vocals), Hervé Lorthioir (guitar), Patrick Larrieu (guitar), Jacques-Laurent Lardaud (bass), Fredéric Rottier (Drums), Dominique Cointre (keyboards), Claire (ch). Musically it sounded similar to bands like the Sisters of Mercy or Red Lorry Yellow Lorry. It was God that brought Dre to me
Even brought the nigga Kanye for me
Bless but them niggas shot Big
Made a nigga feel ashamed of the the city where he live
Make a nigga hate the logo on the Dodger cap
Thinking back to that beamer, wish my nigga Pac was strapped
But I'm dreaming Las Vegas Boulevard, Afeni's son's bullet scars
Not the deck though
Hip Hop was better off when it was just Dre, Scarface, and Esco
Memoirs of the gold chain
It's a cold game nigga, Johnny Coltrane
Black Versaces with the gold frame
Nigga said he sold 'caine that's a bold claim
14 had a brain that could throw flames
So strange, have to blow they mind, Cobain
Mama forgive me 'cause I'm tryna make a living, hah
Them niggas hatin' 'cause that Royce Phantom killing, hah
Niggas shining like they hanging from the ceiling, hah
Me and 'Ye killing (Something like my Jesus piece, hah)
Lord willin', I see a billion
'Til then, I let my nuts hang (Something like my Jesus piece)
Throw them suicide doors up
And let that Holy Ghost swang (Something like my Jesus piece)
That's the crack music, nigga
Never spit a verse 'cause I was making trap music, nigga
I'm not an army, I'm a movement
The flow is water, Andre tried to Ice Cube him
Ice Cubin', roof translucent
Chick on my side tryna get my Trues loose
When I'm talkin' 'bout God, she 'posed to bow her head
Now she all on the blog, steady postin' 'bout her head
Got me thinking like a father, is the world safe?
Got me clinging to my daughter like shark fins in water
Rocks in my ears something Titanic
This is my life and it's exactly how I planned it, damn it
God says everything happens for a reason
I seen four seasons at The Four Seasons
Take that chinchilla off, poor kids is freezing
Cookin' up in the same pot they ain't got to pee in
Mama forgive me 'cause I'm tryna make a living, hah
Them niggas hatin' 'cause that Royce Phantom killing, hah
Niggas shining like they hanging from the ceiling, hah
Me and 'Ye killing (Something like my Jesus piece, hah)
Lord willin', I see a billion
'Til then, I let my nuts hang (Something like my Jesus piece)
Throw them suicide doors up
And let that Holy Ghost swang (Something like my Jesus piece)
Pieces on gold leashes
Cruisers, around greases make them cohesive
I'm the sun shining with God features
Draw closer to a true blood bleeder, soul of a southern preacher
Went from dinner with bottom feeders to world leaders
We throw the peace up, knowing the world need us
Eagerness to live life and see the bright lights
To sacrifices we made it's sorta Christ-like
At the after party thinking what the afterlife's like
He paid for my sins, is it really priced right?
Fuck it, I see the light, raw Stacy delight
Can't deny my Jesus piece that's so Peter-like
Chicks crow for dough, get low for mo'
A combo she end up at the condo
Another Jane Doe or a golden angel
Pendant on an angle, watch the chain glow
Mama forgive me 'cause I'm tryna make a living, hah
Them niggas hatin' 'cause that Royce Phantom killing, hah
Niggas shining like they hanging from the ceiling, hah
Me and 'Ye killing (Something like my Jesus piece, hah)
Lord willin', I see a billion
'Til then, I let my nuts hang (Something like my Jesus piece)
Throw them suicide doors up
And let that Holy Ghost swang (Something like my Jesus piece)
The Game's song Jesus Piece touches upon several themes, including the rapper's reflections on his upbringing in Compton and the influence of religion on his life and image. The lyrics acknowledge the violence and corruption in his city, with The Game expressing shame at the legacy of the shooting of Biggie Smalls and wishing Tupac had been better protected before his own tragic death. He also criticizes fellow rappers who make empty claims about their criminal activity or status, painting them as imposters trying to make a name for themselves in a cutthroat industry. However, the song also indicates that The Game is trying to move beyond these negative influences and create a better life for himself and his family, using his success in the music industry to help those who are less fortunate.
The chorus of the song focuses on The Game's "Jesus piece," a piece of jewelry that displays a portrait of Jesus on the cross. This symbol serves as a reflection of The Game's attempt to balance his gangster image with his faith and his belief in the power of Christ to help him overcome his struggles. The lyrics suggest that the rapper is determined to remain true to himself and his values, despite the challenges he faces in the music industry.
Overall, Jesus Piece is a powerful exploration of The Game's identity and his relationship with the world around him, showcasing both his raw talent and his willingness to address difficult topics in his music.
