1. Jayceon Terrell Taylor (born November 29, 1979 in Compton, California, United States), better known by his stage name Game, formerly known as The Game, is an American Grammy Award winning gangsta rapper signed to Aftermath Entertainment through his own label Black Wall Street Records, with which he founded with his half brother Big Fase 100. He rose to fame in 2005 with the success of his debut album, The Documentary, and his two Grammy nominations. Since then he has released several other critically acclaimed albums, 2006's Doctor's Advocate and 2008's LAX. The RED Album was released August 23, 2011. All of his four albums debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 100, and he is widely considered to be a driving force in bringing back the West Coast hip hop scene and competing with many of his East Coast counterparts.
Studying various influential rap albums, Game developed a strategy to become a rapper himself and with help from Big Fase, they founded The Black Wall Street Records. The label originally featured such artists as Glasses Malone, Vita, and Nu Jerzey Devil, along with Game himself. His stage name was coined by his grandmother. Game first gained prominence when he attended a hip-hop summit hosted by Russell Simmons and Louis Farrakhan, releasing his first mixtape You Know What It Is Vol. 1 in 2002, followed by a record deal with the independent label, Get Low Recordz owned by JT the Bigga Figga. Originally Sean Combs of Bad Boy Records was going to sign him to his label, but Game's mixtape found the attention of famed producer Dr. Dre, who signed him to Aftermath Entertainment in 2003. In October 2004, he released his first album Untold Story through Get Low Recordz, which sold over 82,000 copies within its first three months. The album featured artists like Sean T, Young Noble (of the Outlawz), and JT the Bigga Figga. Game also appeared on various mixtapes hosted by DJ's such as DJ Kayslay, DJ Whoo Kid, and DJ Clue. Game also released a second mixtape You Know What It Is Vol. 2 through his own record label and appeared on the video game NBA Live 2004 on a song produced by Fredwreck called "Can't Stop Me". On January 24th, 2011, he released a mixtape entitled, "Purp & Patron."
2. A British 60s Band formed by Terry Spencer in 1965. 3. A French new wave band from the 80’s coming from the suburbs of Paris. It’s line up was : Marc Dimitri (Vocals), Hervé Lorthioir (guitar), Patrick Larrieu (guitar), Jacques-Laurent Lardaud (bass), Fredéric Rottier (Drums), Dominique Cointre (keyboards), Claire (ch). The Game Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Hit the switch, show niggas how the shit go
The Game is back, the Aftermath chain is gone
The D's is chrome, the frame is black
(So watch it lift up)
Till the motherfucker bounce and break
And knock both of the screws out the licence plate
Let the games begin
Shit, let the chronic burn as the Daytons spin
It ain't been this much drama since I first heard Eminem
In the club, poppin' X pills like M & Ms
Call it Dre day, we celebratin', bitch bring a friend
Bottles on me, tell the waiter to order another round
And put that cheap-ass hypnotic down
(Put your 'cris up!)
If you feel the same way
Who got 'em hittin' switches NY to LA
(If I could fit the whole hood in the club)
Hop in the low-rider, long as you got bitches in the back
(I turn it into a strip-club)
Call it a lap-dance, when the six-fo' bounce that ass
(If I could fit the hole world in the club)
Tell the DJ to bang my shit, the west-coast in this bitch
(Pop bottles and twist up)
Roll up chronic and hash
In a blunt, call it Aftermath
Somebody tell me where the drinks at
Where the bitches at
You fucking on the first night, meet me in the back
I got a pound of chronic, and a gang of freaks
Move bitch! Who the fuck you think they came to see?
The protégé of the D R E
You take a picture with him, and you gotta fuck me
And you gotta fuck Busta, can't touch Eve
Got something in my waist that you can't touch either
That's — my gangsta bitch, and like Crips and Bloods
I'm in the club on some gangsta shit
(So nigga twist up)
Light another dub
Bitches get scared when niggas start fighting in the club
Ain't nothing but a g-thing, baby it's a g-thing
Bounce like you got hydraulics in your g-string
I fuck a different bitch seven days a week
Hit the switch, watch it bounce like a Scott Storch beat
(If I could fit the whole hood in the club)
Hop in the low-rider, long as you got bitches in the back
(I turn it into a strip-club)
Call it a lap-dance, when the six-fo' bounce that ass
(If I could fit the hole world in the club)
Tell the DJ to bang my shit, the west-coast in this bitch
(Pop bottles and twist up)
Roll up chronic and hash
In a blunt, call it Aftermath
Niggas thought I wasn't coming back, look at me now
Hoppin' out the same Cherry six-fo' with the motherfucking top down
I'm The Game, nigga
Call your bitch, she ain't home, she with Game, nigga
Remember that, Dre
You passed me the torch, I lit the chronic with it, now the world is my ashtray
Ridin' three-wheel motion 'till the ass scrapes
Turn sunset into a motherfucking drag-race
Now watch it bounce
Hit the switch, let it bounce till the police shut the shit down
(When you hit the club)
Tell 'em you came with me
(We gonna twist up)
In the V.I.P
It's a new day, and if you ever knew Dre
Motherfucker, you would say I was the new Dre
Same Impala, different spokes
Same chronic, just a different smoke
(If I could fit the whole hood in the club)
Hop in the low-rider, long as you got bitches in the back
(I turn it into a strip-club)
Call it a lap-dance, when the six-fo' bounce that ass
(If I could fit the hole world in the club)
Tell the DJ to bang my shit, the west-coast in this bitch
(Pop bottles and twist up)
Roll up chronic and hash
In a blunt, call it Aftermath
The Game's song Let's Ride is a celebration of West Coast car culture, recreating the sound and attitude of cruising in a lowrider. The first verse, "Pull the rag off the six-fo'/Hit the switch, show n****s how the shit go" begins with the familiar sound of hydraulics as The Game commands the listener to raise and then lower the car. He goes on to note that he is back on the scene, with a reference to his Aftermath chain being gone, suggesting a break from Dr. Dre's label, but still with Dre's signature sound in the production.
Throughout the song, The Game revels in the feeling of being a West Coast kingpin, with references to classic California brands like Dayton wheels and 40-ounce bottles of malt liquor. He name-drops famous rappers of the time, such as Eminem and Busta Rhymes, positioning himself in the midst of hip-hop royalty. The lyrics also make reference to drugs, alcohol, and sexual conquest, adding to the overall feeling of a wild and dangerous party scene.
Ultimately, Let's Ride is an anthem of excess, braggadocio, and a massive celebration of West Coast rap culture.
