1. Jayceon Terrell Taylor (born November 29, 1979 in Compton, California, United States), better known by his stage name Game, formerly known as The Game, is an American Grammy Award winning gangsta rapper signed to Aftermath Entertainment through his own label Black Wall Street Records, with which he founded with his half brother Big Fase 100. He rose to fame in 2005 with the success of his debut album, The Documentary, and his two Grammy nominations. Since then he has released several other critically acclaimed albums, 2006's Doctor's Advocate and 2008's LAX. The RED Album was released August 23, 2011. All of his four albums debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 100, and he is widely considered to be a driving force in bringing back the West Coast hip hop scene and competing with many of his East Coast counterparts.
Studying various influential rap albums, Game developed a strategy to become a rapper himself and with help from Big Fase, they founded The Black Wall Street Records. The label originally featured such artists as Glasses Malone, Vita, and Nu Jerzey Devil, along with Game himself. His stage name was coined by his grandmother. Game first gained prominence when he attended a hip-hop summit hosted by Russell Simmons and Louis Farrakhan, releasing his first mixtape You Know What It Is Vol. 1 in 2002, followed by a record deal with the independent label, Get Low Recordz owned by JT the Bigga Figga. Originally Sean Combs of Bad Boy Records was going to sign him to his label, but Game's mixtape found the attention of famed producer Dr. Dre, who signed him to Aftermath Entertainment in 2003. In October 2004, he released his first album Untold Story through Get Low Recordz, which sold over 82,000 copies within its first three months. The album featured artists like Sean T, Young Noble (of the Outlawz), and JT the Bigga Figga. Game also appeared on various mixtapes hosted by DJ's such as DJ Kayslay, DJ Whoo Kid, and DJ Clue. Game also released a second mixtape You Know What It Is Vol. 2 through his own record label and appeared on the video game NBA Live 2004 on a song produced by Fredwreck called "Can't Stop Me". On January 24th, 2011, he released a mixtape entitled, "Purp & Patron."
2. A British 60s Band formed by Terry Spencer in 1965. Head guitar: Terry Spencer Bass guitar: Allan Janaway Drums: Terry Goodsell Vocals: Tony Bird Their biggest success was their first single PlayGonna Get Me Someone from 1966. They attracted attention in 1967 with their recording of The Addicted Man which was concerned with drug-taking. The single should not be released.
3. A French new wave band from the 80βs coming from the suburbs of Paris. Itβs line up was : Marc Dimitri (Vocals), HervΓ© Lorthioir (guitar), Patrick Larrieu (guitar), Jacques-Laurent Lardaud (bass), FredΓ©ric Rottier (Drums), Dominique Cointre (keyboards), Claire (ch). Musically it sounded similar to bands like the Sisters of Mercy or Red Lorry Yellow Lorry. They released one single βWalk Awayβ on EMI France (1988) and an album titled "Under The White Bible Law" (1989).

The Game Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Been on songs with S-N-double-O-P
Inside a Ferrari with the D-R-E
Run up I let it sing like Nate D-O-double-G
Walk through 8 Mile, G-Unit's on my feet
Got a cherry lowrider in the N-Y-C
Eve took me to Philly, never been to the pen
Been to Uptown with 50, seen niggas in Timbs
In Cashville, but Compton is {where I'm from}
Where it's just me, my son, and my bitch
She graduated when Notorious BIG dropped "Me & My Bitch"
She get them birds past, I put her in first class
And tell her to carry on that Dooney & Burke bag
She from Grape Street, she know how to work the mag
And only buy white tees, tell 'em to keep the purple tags
Cause the laces in my Chucks keep the beef crackin
I lay niggas out like creased khakis
In that G-wagon, lean like the 23's draggin
I got the whole N-Y-C saggin
If you don't know
(Aftermath, nigga witta attitude) (Game time niggas, Westside)
Where I'm from
(Nigga witta attitude) (Straight Outta Compton) (We rock khakis and Chucks)
If you don't know
(Almost lost my life when Dre dropped The Chronic) (Legend in the making)
Where I'm from
(Aftermath, you better watch your colors in the City of Angels)
Y'all niggas got it fucked up
What you thought cause I'm from Compton I couldn't do numbers like Usher?
Platinum certified, nigga that's a mill' plus
Play both sides of the fence cause the Crips feel cause'
See me ridin with Nate, nigga it's still Blood
You can C-walk to this, homey it's still love
Nigga I've been bangin since Mary J did "Real Love"
(If you don't know) I painted the Rover black
The West coast is back, I can smoke to that
Moms got the CL-6, that's a fact
I bought the house, I'm just waitin on the platinum plaques
Niggas lookin for a cat to jack
Homey I'm willin to do two life sentences back to back
So please don't push me
You niggas is W-N-B-A, all pussy
If you don't know
(Aftermath, nigga witta attitude) (Game time niggas, Westside)
Where I'm from
(Nigga witta attitude) (Straight Outta Compton) (We rock khakis and Chucks)
If you don't know
(Almost lost my life when Dre dropped The Chronic) (Legend in the making)
Where I'm from

In βWhere Iβm From,β The Game provides an account of his upbringing and his rise to fame. He starts the song by proclaiming his affiliation with the Bloods and mentioning his collaborations with Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. He further mentions his travels, including walking through 8 Mile with G-Unit, his visit to Philly with Eve, and his time spent in Cashville. However, he reiterates that despite his travel, it's Compton where he's from. Throughout the song, The Game also addresses the criticism that his success is a result of his Compton roots, proclaiming his platinum certifications and asserting that he can hold his own with both Bloods and Crips.
The song sends a message that despite his travels, success, and being affiliated with Bloods, he will always be from Compton. He also establishes that his inherent personality as a βnigga witta attitudeβ was shaped by growing up in the city, surrounded by gang violence and hip hop music. The Game also addresses the widespread criticism that he could not achieve success outside of his Compton roots, as he mentions his platinum certifications and asserts that he can hold his own with both Bloods and Crips. Overall, βWhere Iβm Fromβ serves as a reflection of The Game's upbringing in Compton and asserts his identity as a West Coast rapper.
