Led by veteran session musician Willie Tee, the Gaturs' jazz-inflected funk and soul only made it to a handful of singles, but did pave the way for Tee's next project — as bandleader for the festive chants of Mardi Gras Indians the Wild Magnolias.

Willie T and the Gators used to play this at Sylvia's Nightclub on Freret St in New Orleans during the 3am to 7am set. This was a hot tune during the time in the early 1970's.

The building doesn't exist anymore. It was on Freret in the middle of the block between Valence and Cadiz Streets on the river side of the street.
