This reminds me of when I tried being sober for a full week. On the night of the 6th day, I had a crazy dream that made me wake up abruptly. My heart was racing, and I jumped up to turn all the lights on in my one bedroom 2nd floor apartment. I was living alone, and had no pets. But my dream, bled into reality, and it still scares me to think about.

In my dream, I thought I was awake. I woke up in my dark room. Thinking I had to go use my bathroom, I stood up and started walking towards it. Just before my bathroom, I had a walk-in closet. When I got just in front of the open closet, I started hovering towards the ceiling. At that point, I knew I was dreaming. But I wasnโ€™t sure if I was getting choked, or hoisted up. Either way, I was suspended in the air, high above the floor. Not quite touching the ceiling.

But I felt this dark presence, emanating from the darkness inside my open walk-in closet. So I asked out loud, โ€œis anyone there?โ€ To which I received a reply, which sounded reptilian, and very raspy. It was a muddled, dark voice. It was a simple reply. But it stretched out, and touched my soul. The dark voice inside my closet said, โ€œyeeeeeaaaahhhhhโ€ฆ..โ€ Which immediately followed a ringing in my ears, and vibrations that started shaking the whole world around me. Thatโ€™s when I woke up.

After I jumped out of bed and turned on every single light on in my apartment. I shakily walked towards my closet, and looked inside. Only to see nothing. Just my normal closet attire. I was shook so bad, I just went back to my bed. Still with every single light on in my small one bedroom apartment.

I laid back down, and stared at the ceiling, for a few seconds. I took a deep breath, and said out loud, โ€œwhat the fuck was that!?โ€ After another few seconds. I closed my eyes, and took another deep breath. Trying to allow my heart to stop racing. But it didnโ€™t.

Not another 4 or 5 seconds with my eyes being closed, I heard the rapid small feet of something very small, and low to the ground, running from my living room area, and into my bedroom. Then jumping into my bed. Whatever it was, shook my bed, when I was just laying in it. My whole bed shook. I immediately opened my eyes again, and again - saw nothing. Needless to say, I jumped out of bed, and did not get back into it.

It's all fun and games until until you hear something from the attic

Yes, one time i was sleeping in the living room and i was talking with my brother around 2am and we all of a sudden we hear something running/walking above us, could have been roof or attic, but we ended up leaving to our rooms. We concluded it was not a cat, because the steps were to hevey and deep, also cats dont take step by step because they have 4 paws. We were about 8 years of age at the time, 10 years later i look back.

It sounds like boots walking in the attic

@Nicola J. Fabela I had something like that happen to me a few years back. Me and my sister were home alone watching a show about haunted houses. About 15 minutes into the show, we heard something like footsteps upstairs. Our floor was squeaky so we were confused since the footsteps were also squeaky. Haven't heard anything since

@Nicola J. Fabela Someone in family at home you may not have known was? Or an intruder? alternatively, some older houses make a lot of noises during cold winter seasons. Just a few possible explanations that came to mind that may be worth pondering. At any rate, sounds like it mustve been real scary at the time.
