Starvation
The Golden Dawn Lyrics

It is true
If you believe in elevation
It will happen to you
You've got to reorganize
The channels of your thought
And leave behind that what you sought
You've got to redefine yourself
The crystal visions of an open mind
And it's easy, it's easy, it's oh so easy to do
You've got to be in love if you want to see
It's a gift to you, it was given to me
The only false impression
Is a doubting mind
That hesitation will keep you far behind
For each bad place is just a place you've missed
So don't recall those that you've kissed
And it's easy, it's easy, it's oh so easy to do
When you expand your conscious
You will be amazed
At the lasting beauty of you days
But you better come now
So you can fill your part
Leave everything, now's the time to start
But beware of a yellow man
Who will turn your castles into sand
And it's easy, it's easy, it's oh so easy to do
The Golden Dawn's song "Starvation" is a psychedelic rock piece that delves into the concept of self-discovery and self-redefinition as the means to experience enlightenment. The lyrics talk about a time of starvation, a time of hardship and trials that one needs to undergo to attain elevation. The song suggests that it's possible to reorganize one's thoughts and redefine oneself to achieve crystal visions of an open mind.
The lyrics suggest that it's easy to attain this state of mind if one is in love with life, receptive to new experiences, and unafraid of taking risks. The song advises listeners to leave behind their doubts and hesitations and instead focus on exploring the world around them. The lyrics suggest that the only false impression is a doubting mind, so one must stay open to new possibilities and experiences.
The song warns against the yellow man, who could be a metaphor for anyone who wants to destroy one's progress or prevent one from pursuing their goals. The song encourages the listener to beware of such people and to stay focused on their journey of self-discovery.
Overall, "Starvation" is a song that urges watchers to pursue their dreams and explore their inner selves to experience enlightenment.

I had the pleasure of hanging out a bit with the lyricist and singer, George Kinney, for a couple of years in the early '80's. George is a warrior for truth, a real Lover, and one of the most courageous persons I have ever met. I understand he passed-on in July of 2022. Onward, thru the fog you gentleman and scholar!
