Good One
The Green Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
About six thirty – seven o'clock to be exactly, yeah, yeah
I get up, the pain rises, I sit up, I'm so dizzy
What a feeling I've got... Why am I laughing? Why not?
It must've been a good time, baby, whoa
I hope I didn't get too crazy, whoa lord
I gotta get up and go
And watch it disappear at the bar
We're gonna have a good, good, good, good one
So I finally get home and I'm floating through the breeze
Barely making it through the door because my body's half asleep
Oh, I'm going out of my head
Roll up a spliff and nice'n up me medi
Light it up, the flame rises, spliff it up, get me dizzy
What a feeling I've got... Why am I laughing? Why not?
We're gonna have a good, good, good, good one
The Green's song "Good One" describes a night of partying and excess. The singer wakes up in the back of a truck, feeling pain and dizziness, but also the lingering exhilaration from the night before. He wonders if he got too wild but ultimately decides it must have been a good time. He realizes he needs to stop spending so much money at the bar and get on with his day.
Later, the singer arrives home and continues to enjoy himself despite his physical exhaustion. He rolls a joint, ignites the flame, and feels the familiar buzz take him over. He muses on his own laughter, asking why not enjoy the feeling of happiness and freedom that comes with letting loose.
Overall, "Good One" captures the bittersweet aftermath of a wild night out. The singer acknowledges the consequences of his actions but also celebrates the joy and liberation of living in the moment.
