Evoking the maniacal elements of The Cramps, inventiveness of The Pixies and the bad girl attitude of The Runaways, GLK's sound is one part sultry, one part menacing and all parts rock 'n' roll.
Hailing from Los Angeles, CA, The Green Lady Killers consist of Lady Van Buren (vocals/guitar), Cherrybomb (drums) and Ivy Rose (bass/vocals).
The Green Lady Killers debut full-length album, "Just Fine", recorded at StudioCat Productions with Jamison Weddle (Dave Grohl, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soulfly), was released in the United States and Europe in January 2011 on Rusty Knuckles Music (Nail Distribution).
Known for their versatile sound, booty shakin' beats and striking image, the captivating threesome have shared the stage with Nekromantix (Hellcat Records), new wave pop-rock pioneers, Missing Persons, Detroit Cobras (Bloodshot Records), legendary garage rocker Sky Saxon of The Seeds (Global Universe), Dex Romweber Duo (Bloodshot Records) and more.
In February 2010, The Green Lady Killer performed live, in-studio on legendary DJ Jonathan L's 'The Lopsided World of L' nationally syndicated radio show on 98KUPD. In November 2010, The Green Lady Killers attended the LA Music Awards as a recipient of "Phoenix Music Awards: Best Power Trio of the Year.”

Wait for You
The Green Lady Killers Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Well I'd lash out
Freak out seen on me
I'd lose my sympathy
If it was up to me
I'm calling you away
And promise you I'll be ok
I can explain to you someway
That I have been waiting for love
Waiting for love
And I told you that it would be worth it
Waiting for love
I'm gonna make it slow
And yes I need
And yes you go
But I don't wanna know
I'm gonna make it slow
you...
Kissed me once for good luck
And you told me it's true
oh wh o o o wh o no
I've gotta tell you its luck
But I've never been down
And I'm never gonna waste my time
My time
As I saw you talk
You asked me for a talk
And I was never there
But I could never see
If you would only plead anyway
I showed you how to work it
Waiting for love
Waiting for love
I told you it would be worth it
Waiting for love
Waiting for love
I've been waiting for love
I told you it would be worth it
Waiting for love
You said that I am perfect
Waiting for love
The lyrics to "Wait For You" by The Green Lady Killers are reflective of the internal struggle of waiting for love. The opening lines, "Anything we should know about your change? If it was up to me, Well I'd lash out, Freak out seen on me," suggest a want to act out in frustration due to waiting. The lyrics continue to express this internal battle by stating, "I'd lose my sympathy if it was up to me." These lyrics may suggest that waiting for love can be emotionally taxing and may bring out negative emotions in oneself.
The chorus, "I have been waiting for love, waiting for love, and I told you that it would be worth it, waiting for love," implies that the internal struggle for love is worth the wait. The lyrics mention making it slow, which suggests that the waiting process may be prolonged, but ultimately, they are willing to wait for love, stating "I told you it would be worth it, waiting for love." The bridge line, "You said that I am perfect, waiting for love," reinforces the idea that finding the right person to love is worth the wait.
