Shortly after the band’s conception, they began putting work into their first EP, “It’s Not All That Bad.” The EP, which was written over the span of a few short months, was recorded in the same place the band writes and practices– a basement. Each song from their now infamous basement tapes started as a jam session, which turned into an iPhone recording, which ended in Sartino playing it over her car radio on the way home from practice, so she could sing along to it until she found the right words.
Other than the music itself, The Greeting Committee’s ultimate goal is to create a collaborative environment for everyone around them. They see themselves as a massive art project, and want to get as many creative minds involved as possible, which includes the listeners. The music is the soundtrack to something much bigger.
I Don't Mind

Everything is temporary
Promises are meant to be kept
When I can't move without breaking them
Ooh, I heard it snap
It kinda sounded like you're never coming back
And I don't mind
So maybe I was wrong
When I couldn't feel a thing for you
At all
All you did was bore me of what
Could've been a home
If it hurts now
Just know
It'l only hurt more
Comfort can't exist
I never felt it in your lips
You used your skin as weapon
When the right words wouldn't fill in
And I am weak
But I need
More than you
Ooh, I heard it snap
It kind of sounded like you're
Never coming back
And I don't mind
I don't mind
I swear I'm okay,
I swear that I'll be fine
I don't mind
(It kind of sounded like you're never coming back)

Don't come back
The Greeting Committee’s song “I Don’t Mind” explores the idea of a relationship that has reached its end. The singer is questioning why they were holding onto something that didn’t feel right and pretending that everything was temporary. They acknowledge that promises are meant to be kept but couldn’t keep them in the relationship. The line “everything is temporary” shows how the singer is trying to act nonchalant about the end of the relationship, but deep down, they are hurting. They hear something snap, which could symbolize the breaking point of the relationship, and they realize that the person they were with is never coming back.
The singer repeats the line “I don’t mind” throughout the song, which shows that they are trying to convince themselves that they are okay with the end of the relationship. They admit that they were wrong to hold onto the person for so long when they didn’t feel anything for them. They also express how the other person’s actions, using their skin as a weapon, aren’t what they needed in the relationship. They are acknowledging that they have weaknesses and may have been settling in the relationship.
Overall, the song is about accepting the end of a relationship and coming to terms with the fact that it was never what the singer truly wanted. They may have been settling or pretending, but they realize that they deserve more than what they had.
