The… Read Full Bio ↴(for the Scottish rock band known just as 'Gun', please see Gun)
The Gun (1968-1969) was a short-lived hard rock group from England that had a top ten hit with "Race With the Devil" in 1968. Formed by brothers Paul and Adrian Curtis (a.k.a Paul Gurvitz and Adrian Gurvitz) alongside Louis Farrell, their first album on Epic was a heavy, psychedelic affair with orchestral touches. Their second album, Gunsight, already showed signs of the sound that made the Gurvitz brothers later famous.
Still, the power trio never managed to quite sustain the mainstream success that they had experienced with "Race With the Devil", particularly since they had to compete against other heavy metal progenitors such as Cream, Deep Purple, and Led Zeppelin at the time. Though earning major respect and spreading their influence to their fellow musicians, the band's days were numbered. After The Gun folded in 1969, the Gurvitz brothers formed Three Man Army and Baker Gurvitz Army. Other projects of note include providing important help to Graeme Edge of The Moody Blues with two solo albums and Adrian Gurvitz recording several personal releases, including the top 10 hit "Classic" in 1982.

Giving up everything I own and then moving out
I'm a prisoner in this home
I keep my curtains shut, sabotage everything I love
For a temporary feeling that only left me numb, damn
Some days, I'm a kamikaze
There's no way you can fucking stop me
I can't look back when the memories look like that
I took the blade out of my pocket
Cut the strings that were attached
I'm bad, and they say that the good die last
My hesitation is the enemy, I guess this is the end of me
Goddamn, I just got some bad news
I lost some more friends, got their names tattooed
I take my .45, point it right at you
'Cause you can't take nothing away from me
I got nothing to lose
Some days, I'm a kamikaze
There's no way you can fucking stop me
I can't look back when the memories look like that
I took the blade out of my pocket
Cut the strings that were attached
I'm bad, and they say that the good die last
My hesitation is the enemy, I guess this is the end of me
Hesitation is the enemy, I guess this is the end of me
Hesitation is the enemy, I guess this is the end of me
The Guns' "Don't Look Back" is a powerful song that seems to speak of inner turmoil and mental anguish. The opening lines suggest a desire to leave everything behind and move out, indicating a sense of entrapment or being stuck in a difficult situation. The singer reveals that they are a prisoner in their own home and struggle with self-sabotage, using their own actions to destroy everything they love.
The song's chorus hints at a desire for escape and suggests that the singer is willing to take extreme measures to achieve this. The line "I'm a kamikaze, there's no way you can fucking stop me" is particularly poignant, suggesting that the singer sees themselves as a self-destructive force that cannot be stopped.
The lyrics suggest that the singer is plagued by painful memories that they cannot bear to look back upon. They take out a blade and cut the strings that were attached, perhaps suggesting a desire to sever ties with past experiences or emotions. The song ends with the devastating line "hesitation is the enemy, I guess this is the end of me," suggesting that the singer may be considering suicide as a way out of their turmoil.

Lyrics:
Slip inside the eye of your mind
Don't you know you might find
A better place to play
You said that you'd never been
But all the things that you've seen
Slowly fade away
So I start a revolution from my bed
'Cause you said the brains I had went to my head
Step outside, summertime's in bloom
Stand up beside the fireplace
Take that look from off your face
You ain't ever gonna burn my heart out
And so Sally can wait
She knows it's too late
As we're walking on by
Her soul slides away
But don't look back in anger
I heard you say
Take me to the place where you go
Where nobody knows
If it's night or day
But please don't put your life in the hands
Of a rock and roll band
Who'll throw it all away
I'm gonna start a revolution from my bed
'Cause you said the brains I had went to my head
Step outside 'cause summertime's in bloom
Stand up beside the fireplace
Take that look from off your face
'Cause you ain't ever gonna burn my heart out

My mother’s name was Sally. My brother and I used to torture her with this song back in the 90’s. She’s gone now, and those days are priceless to me.
@Delicate_Disaster
My mothers name is Tammy. Look up the song "Tammy" by Debbie Reynolds and imagine your father being an alarm tech who can make any random electronic play whatever you want it to, except back in the 90s when streaming wasnt a thing. Lmao. We used to wrap gifts where once they were opened they wouldnt stop until the security system battery died. Do you know how long it takes for a security battery to die? Lmao. She buried one in a snowbank one year and the next Monday when it was time to go to school the snowbank was singing "Taaaammmmmy Taaaammmmyyy Tammy's in love" 🤣 her father started it when she was a kid. Shes 50 now 🤣
