The Harvard Opportunes's song Halo/Already Gone is a mashup cover of two different songs by Beyoncé and Kelly Clarkson. The first part of the mashup is Beyoncé's hit single "Halo," while the second part is Clarkson's "Already Gone." The beginning of the song starts with the lyrics of "Halo," where the walls that were built with great difficulty for protection are tumbling down without a sound. The singer is taking a considerable risk to let someone into their life, but they have faith that this person will be an angel in their life. The person's presence has brightened up the singer's life, breaking every rule they had, and the singer finds themselves addicted to their light.
The chorus of the song has the singer surrounded by the person's embrace, and they feel like they have awakened to a new love in their life. Even though the singer swore never to fall again, this time it doesn't feel like falling as the ground is not there to break their fall. Gravity is powerless to pull them back again, so they take the risk of never shutting the person out of their life.
The song's second part by Kelly Clarkson, "Already Gone," complements the first part of the song. The two songs' lyrics interconnect with each other, as the story of the person in the first part's beginning meets the sad ending of the second part.
