Ring of Fire
The Highwaymen Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Love is a burnin' thing
And it makes a fiery ring
Bound by wild desire
I fell into a ring of fire

I fell into a burnin' ring of fire
I went down, down, down
And the flames went higher
And it burns, burns, burns
The ring of fire, the ring of fire

I fell into a burnin' ring of fire
I went down, down, down
And the flames went higher
And it burns, burns, burns
The ring of fire, the ring of fire

The taste of love is sweet
When hearts like ours meet
I fell for you like a child
Oh, but the fire went wild

I fell into a burnin' ring of fire
I went down, down, down
And the flames went higher
And it burns, burns, burns
The ring of fire, the ring of fire

I fell into a burnin' ring of fire
I went down, down, down
And the flames went higher
And it burns, burns, burns
The ring of fire, the ring of fire

And it burns, burns, burns
The ring of fire, the ring of fire

The ring of fire, the ring of fire

IKR Waylon was my favorite out of em all because of his personality and his voice. He always seemed nice and yet like an outlaw.

@Jared it is well known that Kris Kristoffer was the biggest Johnny Cash fanboy in Nashville. They were great friends, and the story of Kris getting Johnny to record 'Sunday Morning Coming Down' is the stuff of legends

I was there. What a fabulous show. It was the Highwaymen plus the Best of Cash, Best of Willie, Best of Waylon and Best of Kris. I think the individual performances were extra good because they got to rest up a bit for solos and each wanted to show the other ones that they still had it and could keep up the energy of the audience. It was also a larger venue with a bigger crowd than any of them would play in front of on their solo tours

If only we could buy memories, my offer would be 1.5million :-)

Terence Tan

What a great experience it must have been.
