1. The Hush were a short-lived sixties band, originally a four-piece, from Birmingham, United Kingdom. They moved to London to seek fame, where they added keyboard player Peter Wood. In London they issued one record ('Elephant Rider' b/w 'Grey') for Fontana in March 1968. Personnel: Chris Anslow (aka Angelo, lead vocals), John Beattie (lead guitar), Peter "Twiggy" Wood (organ), Geoff Smith (bass), Mac Poole (drums). Mac Poole later replaced Cozy Powell in Young Blood and later played in Warhorse. John Beattie and Peter Wood later joined The Spectrum. Wood had success as a session player.
2. The Hush was also a U.K. folk group formed in 2001 by Jed Grimes (guitar, vocals) to record new arrangements of the old North East of England folk songs. Also in the group were Bob Fox (guitar, vocals), Paul Smith (drums, percussion), Neil Harland (bass), Graham Wood (keyboards) and Garry Linsley (sax), but the line-up had varied over the years to include various guest singers including Judy Dinning, Benny Graham, Ray Stubbs and Jane Wade.

And he'll be big and strong, the man I love
And when he comes my way
I'll do my best to make him stay
He'll look at me and smile I'll understand
And in a little while, he'll take my hand
And though it seems absurd
Maybe I shall meet him Sunday maybe Monday, maybe not
Still I'm sure to meet him one day
Maybe Tuesday will be my good news day
He'll build a little home, just meant for two
From which I'll never roam, who would, would you?
And so, all else above,
I'm waiting for the man I love
The lyrics to "The Man I Love" by The Hush depict a deep longing and anticipation for a romantic partner who is yet to appear in the singer's life. The song expresses the desire for a strong, loving, and supportive partner who will come into their life and make it complete. The singer envisions this man as someone who is big and strong, presenting an image of reliability and protection.
The lyrics suggest that when this man finally arrives, the singer will do everything in their power to make him stay. The line "I'll do my best to make him stay" implies a determination to create a lasting relationship and not let this opportunity slip away.
The song also highlights the unspoken connection and understanding between the singer and the man they love. The lyrics suggest that they will communicate through glances and subtle gestures rather than relying on words. The line "I know we both won't say a word" implies that they share an intuitive understanding that transcends verbal communication.
The lyrics convey a sense of hope and anticipation for the future, as the singer imagines the possibility of meeting this special someone on any given day. The mention of specific days ("maybe Sunday, maybe Monday") adds to the uncertainty and unpredictability, reflecting the notion that love has its own timeline.
The idea of building a little home for two represents a desire for stability and companionship. The lyrics express a longing to create a lasting, harmonious partnership where the singer feels no need to wander or explore elsewhere.
Overall, "The Man I Love" portrays a deep longing for love and companionship, while also emphasizing the importance of waiting for the right person to come along.

Every time I read YA novels these days I scream. Maybe it's because I've actually studied lit and I know that if I had turned in half of what I've ready in these books to my any of my professors I would have had failed those classes.

when i was 14 i loved these books as well, at the time i thought they were fantastic and i loved them, used to re-read them over and over again. 6 years later these are still my one of my favourites not because they are particularly mindblowing but because they are ridiculous, these are my feel-good books on a rainy and sad day

@cari can read I was a fresh 18 yr old and wanted a tattoo 😭😂 I genuinely loved this series in my teens, it was an obssessive thing for me.
I got a 'falling' feather done on the side of my neck to represent Patch's last feather. Which could be worse tbh! It's somewhat a passable tattoo. But, yeah, I re-read the books and realised that Patch was a groomer-ish and tbh the books aren't great. 😂So now I am stuck with a tattoo of a series I hate LOL. At least it's cute.
