They were best mates from there early school days before going on to form the band in 2006. Early 2009 seen the release of their double A-side debut single ‘Vanity Fare’ and ‘Thirteen Fourteen’. (available on itunes now)
Aside from airplay on XFM, Manchester online radio and pretty much every unsigned podcast going, They have played venues such as Moho in Manchester, King Tut’s Wah-Wah Hut in Glasgow, Liverpool Barfly The O2 Academy in Glasgow and Alan McGee’s death disco in London.
The last 4 or 5 months have been a quiet time but with a reshuffle they are going back into the studio and should begin work on there debut album in early 2010, with an expected release late in the year, so i wouldn’t expect to see them until then
2. The Ideals were an R&B vocal group from Chicago, Illinois, USA, formed in 1952.
The outfit scuffled for many years with personnel changes before recording in 1961 on the local Paso label. The Ideals at this time consisted of Reggie Jackson, Leonard Mitchell, Robert Tharp and Sam Steward (bass). In 1963 the group added a fifth member, lead Eddie Williams, and with his rough-hewn, soulful delivery they recorded their most successful record, ‘The Gorilla’; its ‘monkey dance’ theme was designed to reap sales from the success of the dance fad. It never reached any national charts but nonetheless received national exposure, partly in the pop market, and earned the group its first national tour.
In 1965 the Ideals reorganized as a trio with Jackson, Mitchell and Steward, and they finally reached the R&B charts with ‘Kissin’’ in 1966, although the record did not, in fact, sell as well as ‘The Gorilla’. A notable song in 1966 was ‘You Lost And I Won’, which neatly married the group’s doo-wop past with the sound of soul. However, the group broke up a short time later. Most of the members did not join other acts after their Ideals association, except for Tharp and Mitchell. Tharp, under the name Tommy Dark, joined Jerry Murray in 1964 to form a dance duo called Tom And Jerrio, specializing in Boogaloo records. They had a hit with ‘Boo-Ga-Loo’ (number 10 R&B) in 1965. Leonard Mitchell continued to record by joining with Jerome Johnson and Robert Thomas to form the Channel 3, who released one single, to no great acclaim.

Can't you see
Hate is part
Of reality?
They want to kill the flame
And keep us insane
By playing with our hearts
And choking our brains
Of blood
An army cannot take my soul
No! That's unfair!
You get
What you want
And I am left with nothing
All I want
Is you to see
My voice singing
"No! No! No!"
Thought control
Apostasy
Are based upon
Your fantasy
The tides are going against you
It's our time to play
No love and my country's full
Of blood
An army cannot take my soul
No! That's unfair!
You get
What you want
And I am left with nothing
All I want
Is you to see
My voice singing
"No! No! No!"
"La! La! La!"
"La! La! La!"
The Ideals' "The Way" is a song about a man who is unwilling to continue a one-sided relationship. He wants love and affection from his partner, but he cannot give it to her if she is unable to reciprocate his feelings. The song begins with a haunting intro before the first verse opens with "There's no way, I can love you like you need, if you can't say you love me." The emotionally charged lyrics continue as the man pours his heart out, trying to make his partner see that he's right here for her and that he loves her, but he can't continue the relationship if she does not feel the same.
The second verse is also about how the couple is always fighting, and the man wonders why they fight when they are supposed to be in love. He is tired of the drama and wants things to be okay. He wants his partner to realize that he just wants to live for her and that he wants every little thing to be the way it used to be. The chorus repeats the same lines as the first verse, emphasizing the point that the man cannot continue the relationship if his partner cannot love him back. The song ends with a repeat of the chorus, expressing a sense of finality in the situation.

There's no way
I cannot do it
I can love you like you need
I can love you as per your expectations
If you can't say you love me
If you can't express your love towards me
There's no way
I cannot do it
I can give you what you need
I can provide you what you want
If you can't give it back to me
If you can't give me back what I want
Said there's nothing I can do
I cannot do anything
'cause you can't seem to get it through your head
Because you cannot understand this
That I really love you
I actually love you
Stop playing more you know I do
Stop pretending, you already know I do
I feel you
I understand you
What does it take to make you see
What do I need to do to make you understand
I'm right here for you
I am always there for you
What do I have to say
What should I say
Baby, will you listen to me
Baby, would you please pay attention to me
There's no way
I cannot do it
Every other night
Almost every night
After we tell each other we're in love
After expressing love towards each other
We seem to start a fight
We often end up fighting
Listen to me I'm tired of being bothered
Please listen to me, I am tired of this frustration
I don't mean to put you down
I don't intend to hurt you
But my options are running out
But I am running out of choices
I don't mean to cut you off
I don't intend to separate from you
But we need to have a talk
But we need to discuss
'cause there's no way
Because it's impossible
Baby can you tell me why we have to fight
Baby, can you explain why we always fight
(I would rather not hurt you)
(I don't want to hurt you)
I just want everything to be alright
I just want everything to be okay
(What's the matter with me loving you?)
(What's wrong if I love you?)
I just want to live for you
I just want to live for you
The way you want to live for me
In the way you want to live for me
I want every little thing
I want every small thing
All the little things to be
Every small thing to be
Just the way they used to be
In the way they were before
Oh tell me
Please tell me
