"Everything Joel Hamilton has ever done has been total hogwash..." Says Owen about his counterpart, "I can't say why exactly I've allowed myself to be in cahoots with such a musical nobody but I reckon I'm happy to be responsible for the potentiality of him being involved in making the only record he'll probably ever release that might be worth a dam. I mean I'd be lying if i said he hadn't written all the good songs so far for the record, but it's only from being in the same house as me most of every day, seepin in all that good energy."
"Owen's probably the only man I've ever met that could pluck a chicken in 2 minutes flat with a blindfold about his head..." recites Joel...."And he's wrote a song or two i might not mind hearin all the way through....but I ain't never seen a more lazy, dim-witted, barely talented, white trash grave robber play the guitar like he was born in the King family.....I guess i figured it was worth the sack of money he offered me to write some songs with him......we'll see i reckon"
Seeing these two live is like nothing else you've ever experienced. You might not be sure whether one of them is gonna put a fist right in between the others twitchin eyes or give an ambiguous pat on the ass and start the next song...but one thing is for sure, you'll hear some music that'll make your heart jump right outta your chest and slap you right in the face cryin tears of blood.
...and the truth is, the eight or so songs I was barely lucky enough to scrounge a listen off of these Cohorts were some of the craftiest pieces of downright raw, make-me-weep-while-im-stompin-my-feet, heartfelt vintage country I'd heard in a long time. The records not finished yet but if you're lucky enough to catch these two live then you can pick up an advance 3-song compact disc with some tracks from the record that'll have you lacin up your boots and huntin down the next Inlaws show.

Don't Give Up
The Inlaws Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
at that half cracked door
You're always looking
'cause you can't take it anymore
Your hearts been broken before
and it's about to break again
and now that half cracked door
Don't you dare walk out that door
losing hope can start a war
heaven knows you're not alone
don't give up on love
Is this a picture
of how it's gonna be
a lonely picture
there's no one here except for me
Next to the footprints that you leave
That chase your heart right out that door
It stole your heart away from me
'cause you couldn't take it anymore
You couldn't take it
Don't you dare walk out that door
losing hope can start a war
heaven knows you're not alone
don't give up on love
I know it's harder than
it would've ever been
if we were all the captain's of the ships that we are all sailing in
This doesn't have to be the end
if you'd hold on you'd see
it'll turn around now
but you'll never know if you let go
don't you dare walk out that door
holding hope holds so much more
heaven knows you're not alone
so don't give up on love
on love, on love
The Inlaws's song Don't Give Up is a powerful message of hope and perseverance in love. It tells the story of someone who is on the brink of giving up in love due to past hurt and heartbreak. The first verse describes how the person is always looking at the half-cracked door, as if it is their escape from their pain. But the chorus encourages them not to give up, not to lose hope, and not to start a war. The singer reminds the person that they are not alone, and they should not give up on love.
The second verse paints a lonely picture of the future if the person leaves, where only the singer will be left. The verse also describes how the person's heart has been stolen away, and how they couldn't take the pain anymore. The chorus repeats the message of not giving up on love and reminds the person that they are not alone. The bridge talks about how hard it is to persevere in love, but it doesn't have to be the end. If the person holds on, the situation could turn around, but they will never know if they let go.
In summary, Don't Give Up is a song about hope, and it encourages the listener not to give up in love, no matter how hard it may seem.

I see you looking
I notice you glimpsing at that half-opened door
at that half cracked door
towards the almost closed door
You're always looking
You keep looking
'cause you can't take it anymore
Since you can't endure it anymore
Your hearts been broken before
Your heart was shattered previously
and it's about to break again
and it's at the brink of being crushed again
and now that half cracked door
and that nearly closed door, at present
seems the only way to make this end
appears as the solitary approach to putting an end to this
Don't you dare walk out that door
Do not proceed to leave from that door
losing hope can start a war
Mislaying anticipation may trigger distressing conflicts
heaven knows you're not alone
Heaven is aware that you're not entirely isolated
don't give up on love
Do not abandon affection
Is this a picture
Is this how it seems
of how it's gonna be
of the way it will play out
a lonely picture
an image of isolation
there's no one here except for me
there's nobody present here apart from myself
Next to the footprints that you leave
Beside the marks you trail behind
That chase your heart right out that door
That entice your heart to immediately flee
It stole your heart away from me
It robbed your heart from me
'cause you couldn't take it anymore
since you couldn't stand it anymore
Don't you dare walk out that door
Do not dare to leave from that door
losing hope can start a war
Mislaying anticipation may trigger distressing conflicts
heaven knows you're not alone
Heaven is aware that you're not entirely isolated
don't give up on love
Do not abandon affection
I know it's harder than
I understand it's more strenuous than
it would've ever been
it has ever been
if we were all the captain's of the ships that we are all sailing in
If we were all in charge of the vessels that we are all travelling in
This doesn't have to be the end
This doesn't have to be the conclusion
if you'd hold on you'd see
if you'd persevere, you'd perceive
it'll turn around now
it'll twist around momentarily
but you'll never know if you let go
But you'll never be aware of it if you abandon it
don't you dare walk out that door
Do not dare to leave from that door
holding hope holds so much more
Possessing anticipation secures much more
heaven knows you're not alone
Heaven is aware that you're not entirely isolated
so don't give up on love
So do not abandon affection
on love, on love
in love, in love

I'm not gonna lie the end of this video angers me. Instead of Grandma Judy getting what she deserved, all that happened was that she apologized and now everyone forgives her and Nana and her are okay with each other. What she did was completely unacceptable and she deserves a whole lot more than what the video showed.

Honestly same, to me she looked a little more insane than Nana

She learned a lesson, matured, changed, and grew as a person. I think the story had a good ending because of what happened, the future will be brighter as well.
