You've Changed
The Jackson 5 And Johnny Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah.
I remember when you was a little girl
I say you never ever ever wore curls
You wore nothing but an old shaggy, shaggy
dress
I say you never ever try to look your best.
Now when I look at you
All my love come a'running through.
You've changed and it's showing
My love for you is growing
You've changed and it's showing
Yeah. Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah.
You legs were little
But now they are big
Instead of wearing a pony tail
You wear a little red wig
Your eyes are pretty
You got some kissable lips
And I love the way you walk
'cause you swing your hips!
Now when I look at you
All my love come a'running through
You've changed and it's showing
My love for you is growing
You've changed and it's showing.
Hoo hoo. Yeah. Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
yeah.
(Your walk) Oooh, baby, I love the way you
walk.
(Your talk) Oooh, oooh, the way you speak to
me.
(Your look) Oooh, my heart is shook.
(Your eyes) Oooh, baby, hypnotize.
Now when I look at you
All my love come a'running through
You've changed and it's showing
My love for you is growing

You've changed and it's showing.
...etc to FADE

Overall Meaning

The Jackson 5's song You've Changed is a romantic love ballad sung by Michael Jackson, where he expresses how much he is in love with a girl who has transformed from a little girl to a mature woman. The song highlights the physical and emotional changes that the girl has undergone, making her more attractive in Michael's eyes. Michael's deep, soulful voice adds a romantic touch to the lyrics.

The song starts with Michael reminiscing about the past when the girl used to wear shaggy clothes and never tried to look her best. But as time has passed, the girl has changed, and Michael's love for her is growing. He describes how her once-little legs are now bigger, and she has swapped a simple ponytail for a little red wig. Michael enjoys the way the girl walks, talks, and looks, and he is deeply in love with her. The chorus repeats that the girl has changed, and Michael's love for her is increasing.

The Jackson 5's You've Changed was a hit back in 1971, and it has since become a classic love song. It is a beautiful reminder of how important it is to embrace the changes that come with time and how love can evolve and grow over time as well.

If the Jackson 5 had stayed with steel town , we be saying Jackson who?? some people make some really silly comments! where is steel town today ? that was just a local studio Joe was getting some recording and looking for exposure for his sons talent~and Motown liked the song enough to fill their new album~with a much bigger production with master musicians and producers, writers etc.the rest they say is! HISTORY! it's great to have pre Motown recordings of the J 5! pre perfection we came to know!! just took noticed reading the name of group back then on the Bass drum..they were called at that time ....the jackson5 and Johnny! tells you how johnny was big asset to the group! and Johnny was the man on the Drums~ check any live versions like the Goin back to INDIANNA LIVE ALBUM ...Johnny kicked ass on those DRUMS!!

Well, I know one thing? I'm sure glad Motown got them away from Steeltown Records. Motown's version is so much better than Steeltowns' they didn't have a clue what to do with The Jackson Five
