And all the joy within you dies
Don't you want somebody to love
Don't you need somebody to love
Wouldn't you love somebody to love
You better find somebody to love
Better find somebody to love, love
Now when the garden flowers, my baby are dead
Yes, and your mind, your mind is so full of red
And don't you want somebody to love
Don't you need somebody to love
Wouldn't you love somebody to love
You better find somebody to love
Your eyes, your eyes may look like his
But in head, my baby, I'm afraid you don't know where it is
Don't you want somebody to love
Don't you need somebody to love
Wouldn't you love somebody to love
You better find somebody to love, love
Tears are running, [Incomprehensible] running down your breast
And your friends, baby, you know they treat you like a guest
Don't you want somebody to love
Don't you need somebody to love
Wouldn't you love somebody to love
You better find somebody to love
No, don't find somebody to love
"Somebody to Love" by Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, and Starship is a psychedelic rock classic that is oftentimes interpreted as a song about the search for love and connection in a world that can be full of deception and heartache. The lyrics describe the pain and confusion that come with realizing that truths that were once held dear are actually lies - leading to a loss of joy and a need for someone to understand and love you. The repetition of the chorus, "Don't you want somebody to love, Don't you need somebody to love, Wouldn't you love somebody to love, You better find somebody to love," underscores this deep-seated desire for companionship and the hope of finding someone to share life with.
The second verse brings the listener into a garden where flowers have died, reflecting the pain and desolation that can mark everyday life. The line "your mind, your mind is so full of red" suggests a heightened state of anxiety and panic, making the search for love all the more urgent. As the song progresses, the singer implores the subject of the song to find love, emphasizing that despite physical similarities, the person does not understand what love truly entails. The final verse reveals tears running down the breast of the subject, likely referring to emotional pain and heartbreak. The song ends with the repeated chorus, underscoring the importance of finding someone to love.

I swear, Grace's voice could bend steel. The psychedelic album of the 60's !
@briane173
Ya think!? THE most powerful female voice in the rock era by far. She had no equal. When Grace Slick hit the scene folks weren't quite ready for it, and I think that was the appeal. The sheer power of Slick's delivery was a force to be reckoned with. Follows her personality too. Unafraid, unafraid of laughing at herself as well as the Establishment. She was a partyer and probably the life of the party. Almost didn't need drugs when you were around Grace Slick.

I like Grace. She started a riot at West German concert by taunting the fans. On alcohol, drugs no doubt.
