The song is well known for its guitar riff, which alternates between the bass F# (and its octave), which Hendrix played with his thumb on the second fret, and the ringing E–A dyad at the fifth fret. It is one of Hendrix's earliest uses of feedback in a studio recording. The song is also known for its use of the so-called "Hendrix chord", the dominant 7#9.
The US version of Are You Experienced (also released in Canada) listed the song with a spelling mistake as "Foxey Lady"[1] and this is how it is still known among many North American fans and critics today.
The group had difficulties deciding how to end the song. Bass player Noel Redding claims that the last chord was his suggestion.[2]
Hendrix commented on his own lyrics by saying that he did not approach women in such a straightforward manner as the lyrics might suggest ("You got to be all mine" etc.)

You know you're a cute little heart breaker, ha
Foxey, yeah
And you know you're a sweet little love maker, ha
Foxey
I want to take you home, haha yeah
I won't do you no harm no, ha
Ooh foxey lady, yeah
Foxey, foxey
Now-a I see you come down on the scene
Oh foxey
You make me want to get up and a scream
Foxey, oh baby listen now
I've made up my mind
Yeah, I'm tired of wasting all my precious time
You got to be all mine, all mine
Foxey lady
Here I come
Foxey
Yeah
I'm gonna take you home
I won't do you no harm no
You got to be all mine, all mine
Foxey lady
Here I come baby, I'm commin' to get ya
Ooh foxey lady yeah yeah
You look so good foxey
Oh yeah foxey

He expresses a desire to take her home and make her all his, repeatedly calling her "foxey" throughout.

At first glance, everyone is bored. Then you realize everyone is stoned, and probably having their mind blown at the same time.

Where did you get that idea? reading a history book or UTUBE? Pop Festivals were completely different venues than Concerts where some actually had NO seating like Janis Joplin which I saw.. and the ones in stadiums where seating was stadium style but as I recall it.. everyone stood up the whole time even three hour festivals. I lived it. When you are 19 standing up and dancing for 6 hours straight or whatever was not problem. Anyone who actually attended "music" in those days.. well attest to that. but anyway.. have a good day.
@cforssi
I was at this concert. I was 17 years old and somewhere in the audience. People were sitting around because this was an all day festival with lots of bands. Very hot also.

You are a very lucky man indeed, when you watch Jimi play that guitar you realise nobody is going to that good, you will always be second.
I sold the guitar and raced bikes instead 😂
