She's So Fine
The Jimi Hendrix Experience Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

She walks with a bell-clock round her neck
So the hippies think she's in with time
Time
Her hair glistens like robins on a deck
Branches attack me from her neck

She's so fine
She's so very very fine

The sun from a cloud sinks into her eyes
The rain from a tree soaks into her mind
Mind
Morning sign sounds just like a lock
All these signs are always a stock

She's so fine
She's so very very fine

When I veer I get so near
But so far far far away
Listen to me, today

We united just beside a leaf
The ground was hard underneath her

Ahhhahhh

She's so fine
Ahhhahhh

Overall Meaning

The Jimi Hendrix Experience's song "She's So Fine" is a vivid depiction of a woman whose beauty and style captures the attention of those around her. The opening line of the song references the bell-clock around her neck, which suggests that she is always on time and punctual. This association with time aligns her with the hippie culture of the 1960s, which valued spontaneity and freedom from schedules. This line also reinforces the idea that she is a striking and memorable figure.

The next few lines of the song continue to describe the woman's physical appearance. Her hair is compared to robins on a deck, evoking a sense of movement and vitality. The branches attacking the singer from her neck create a sense of danger and excitement. The chorus of the song makes it clear that this woman is not just attractive, but incredibly so - she's "so fine" and repeats that phrase several times.

The second verse of the song moves away from the woman's physical features and focuses more on the environment around her. The sun and rain are personified as they interact with her, further emphasizing her connection to the natural world. The morning sign mentioned in the song may refer to the sound of birds or wind chimes, creating a calming and peaceful atmosphere. However, the final line of the verse suggests that these calming elements are merely part of a wider pattern (a "stock") that this woman is a part of.

The final verse of the song describes a more personal encounter with the woman. The singer has a close encounter with her and feels that they are "united just beside a leaf." However, despite this closeness, the singer still feels far away from her. The song ends with a repetition of the chorus, emphasizing once again just how striking and captivating this woman is.

Wow! Just awesome! Pure talent (that sadly exists no more).

@sathurn_501

if i'm an artist, that means im fuck 'cause i dont have talent?

@jjjjjj-sd6yr

@@sathurn_501 Not at all! I'm sure you have talent, especially compared to someone like me, who doesn't have an artistic bone in their body. But no one alive today has talent like Hendrix, Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, etc.

Saying you don't have talent would be like me telling a high school basketball player they aren't talented because they're not as good as Jordan or Magic.

@sathurn_501

@@jjjjjj-sd6yr was a great answer, but it's kinda weird, because there will never be someone like hendrix or aretha. Everyone it's diferent, so your right, there will never be someone like hendrix
