Got a Feeling
The K's Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Do you ever wonder how far you will go
Before your heart packs in, before you no longer know
How to breathe right
Keep looking at me, we′ll be alright

Don't ask the question if you don′t wanna know
Because I've not a clue, I don't know where else to go
You′ve only kicked just over an hour ago
You′ve only kicked just over an hour ago

But I've got a feeling you′ve explained it
Oh well it must have just have slipped my mind
Got a feeling you've explained it
Oh baby, baby won′t you tell me twice?
Got a feeling you've explained it
Well it must have just have slipped my mind
Got a feeling you′ve explained it
Oh baby won't you tell me one more time?

I said no, don't think so
It′s never happened before
It′s never happened to me before
But I'm sure you′ll be fine by the time the sun shines

And the tiny stars are like insects are
With six legs each
You're sweating at the airport
And it′s snowing at the beach
I just don't get it

But I′ve got a feeling you've explained it
Oh well it must have just have slipped my mind
Got a feeling you've explained it
Oh baby, baby won′t you tell me twice?
Got a feeling you′ve explained it
Well it must have just have slipped my mind
Got a feeling you've explained it
Oh baby won′t you tell me one more time

Oh, I can feel it
I can feel it
I can feel it too, oh
I can feel it
I can feel it
I can feel it too, oh
I can feel it
I can feel it
I can feel it too, oh
I can feel it

I can feel it
I can feel it too, oh

Overall Meaning

The K's song Got a Feeling is a reflection on the uncertainty that comes with life's journey. The lyrics suggest that sometimes we wonder how far we will go and if our heart can take it. They also explore the feeling of being lost and not knowing where to go, while assuring the listener that they will be alright if they keep looking forward. The song seems to be a conversation between two people where one is trying to understand the other's experience. They discuss a recent event that affected the person whose perspective the song is from, most likely an argument or disagreement, and how they feel about it. Despite not fully understanding what happened, the person singing the song has a feeling that the other person has explained it to them before. The repetition of this phrase throughout the song seems to suggest that even though they are still uncertain about what happened, they trust the other person's explanation and want to hear it again.

The lyrics also contain a vivid image of a person sweating at the airport while it is snowing at the beach, which could serve as a metaphor for the confusion and disorientation that comes with life's unexpected turns. The final repetition of "I can feel it" seems to suggest that the person singing the song has come to some sort of realization, perhaps about the importance of trusting our intuition and feelings in moments of uncertainty.

@sheermusic

Lads, music is saved.

Oasis’ rightful heir have been delivered.

The Ks from Merseyside are here, and they’ve trimmed off all the malaise and fat from Oasis, streamlined it for the 21st century and recorded it down in sub 3-minute anthems.

Don’t worry, no wheels have been hurt in this process.

Lead guitar solos that evoke the corpse of prime time Noel, the songs are sing-able, memorable, big sounding, handsome, well dressed, sharp hair cuts and seem to have both the lads and the lasses frothing at the mouth.

They just really need to drop that terrible pirate flag of a logo.
