1. a one-man electronic band from Sweden
2. a punk/rock and roll band from Florida, United States
3. a British mod/rock group from the 1980s
4. a Dutch pop/rock band from the 1980s
1. David Sundqvist is The Kick and 'Dancer' is his dรฉbut single. Hwever, David is no wet-behind-the-ears newbie. With a list of previous bands behind him (such as the electro-glam rock Elasmo, Fireline Angels and Kitty & The K) he's not been idle in recent years. Not only studio work has kept him busy; living out of a minibus on a country-wide live circuit he's seen it all from Hultsfred to Arvika, as a guitarist with Kristian Antilla. "The Kick comes from a need to create music entirely by my own hands. From broken beats, distorted synth and epic guitar riffs the sound just grew on its own."
2. The Kick (Florida, United States) was a punk/rock band that formed from past members of Dear Ephesus. Current members, like frontman Louis DeFabrizio are in the rock band Gasoline Heart.
3. The Kick (London, United Kingdom) was a mod rock band from East London that had some success in the early 80s.
4. The Kick was one of the groups of the prolific Dutch musician and songwriter, Fred van Vught, who was active in groups such as Telephone, Fantasy and Two Of A Kind in the 1970s. With Telephone, Van Vught worked with Boney M. mastermind, Frank Farian. Van Vught re-surfaced in the Dutch charts in 1980 with 'Blinded' b/w 'Like A Puppet', the dรฉbut single of yet another new project, The Kick.
Rescue Me
The Kick Lyrics

Now seem wrong
This heart is hard and all alone
With bloodshoot eyes, I can't disguise who you are tonight
All the scars
This noose holds my neck so tight
So tonight go all the way don't stop untill I'm gone/You're gone
With breaking waves and seas that storm
My fathers eyes have kept me calm
When you stop sinking, Then I'll stop drinking
The lyrics to The Kick's "Rescue Me" paint a picture of someone who is struggling to come to terms with their emotions and the challenges that life has thrown at them. The first few lines speak of how everything that the person used to consider right now seems wrong. They are alone, and even though they try to hide their true feelings, the pain inside is evident in their bloodshot eyes. The references to scars and a noose around their neck suggest that they feel trapped and helpless.
In the chorus, the person seems to be calling out for help, urging whoever is listening to go all the way and rescue them before it's too late. They are willing to let go of everything that's keeping them down and to take a leap of faith. The reference to breaking waves and seas that storm suggests the enormity of the challenge they are facing, but they find comfort in the fact that their father's eyes have always been a source of strength and stability.
The final line, "When you stop sinking, then I'll stop drinking," is perhaps the most poignant. It suggests that the person is drowning their sorrows in alcohol, and they won't stop until they are rescued.
Overall, "Rescue Me" is a powerful anthem that speaks to anyone who has ever felt lost or alone. The lyrics are poignant and raw, and the emotive melody only adds to the impact of the message.

'Rescue Me' still sits in my top three TV series of all time.
What they got absolutely spot on was the team ethic of a bunch of tough guys working together. No other program EVER came close to recreating that.

I know it's a TV show, but I think this is a prime example of standing your ground and not apologizing when you haven't done anything wrong. People these days are too concerned about hurting anyone's feelings.

The way he was would never fly today which is why I got out of management, (not leadership in the late 90's.) Even though I don't make as much, I don't have to support totally brain dead "decisions" like I used to. He nailed it when he said he did not care what his men did on their downtime as long as they answered the bell, period end of story.
