8. Glamorous Indie Rock & Roll
The Killers Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Glamorous
Indie rock'n'roll is what I want
It's in my soul, it's what I need
Indie rock'n'roll, it's time
Two of us
Flipping through a thrift store magazine
She plays the drums, I'm on tambourine
Bet your, your bottom dollar on me

It's Indie rock'n'roll for me
It's Indie rock'n'roll for me
It's all I need
It's Indie rock'n'roll for me

In a clutch
I'm talking every word for all the boys
Electric girls with worn down toys
Make it up, break it up, what do you care
Oh what do you care?

I take my twist with a shout
A coffee shop with a cause, then I'll freak you out
No sex, no drugs, no life, no love
When it comes to today

Stay if you wanna love me, stay
Oh don't be shy, let's cause a scene
Like lovers do on silver screens
Let's make it yeah, we'll cause a scene

It's Indie rock'n'roll for me
It's Indie rock'n'roll for me
It's all I need
It's Indie rock'n'roll for me

In a clutch
I'm talking every word for all the boys
It's Indie rock'n'roll for me
It's all I need
Makin' up, breakin' up, what do you care
What do you care?
It's Indie rock'n'roll for me

Two of us
Flipping through a thrift store magazine
It's Indie rock'n'roll for me
It's all I need
Makin' up, breakin' up, what do you care

What do you care?
It's Indie rock'n'roll for me

An ode to the greatest genre of music by the greatest band ever. Perfection

@Ariel Linarte he admired New Order and Pet Shop Boys. He also admired Morrissey, but Morrissey was very rude to him when they met 😅

stoopiDOH I love battleborn, the style is so classic pop.

It's all subjective man. Sam's Town had some great fucking tunes on it. So did Day & Age. Battle Born is probably the only album I was a bit disappointed in, on the whole.

Stiffkittens Reviews

@Pigeon boy " I think we respect Joy Division more then listen to them" well, seeing as they only made 2 studio albums, then that makes sense!  But I never tire of listening to them. The Killers for me, after their debut album - which was great - fizzled.  And JD songs were never supposed to be energetic(Apart from maybe Disorder, Digital, Isolation & Insight).  Go to New Order for that!
I am biased of Ian because he is a personal hero of mine, I have suffered from epilepsy my whole life so I can relate to the songs on another level - She's Lost Control, Disorder for example
And IMO All These Things I've Done & Glamorous Indie Rock & Roll are the best tracks on Hot Fuss

+Stiffkittens No I'm sorry but Joy Division are seen as this big massive inspiring band...Alright credit, they are. I'm from Manchester so the hype is even bigger here, but honestly I think we respect Joy Division more then listen to them. Sure, Atmosphere, Transmission, Digital, Disorder, love will tear us apart and all the others are great songs but compare to the thought that goes into Brandon's lyrics and way the band structures the songs. Ian had great lyrics but we can somewhat relate to some of Branon's and with the Killers, EVERYONE LOVES THEM! Stick Mr brightside on or somebody told me and you get a room full of pure energy. I don't think Joy Division ever bought that excitment- With all respect
