Know How
The Kings of Convenience & Feist Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Riding on this know-how
Never been here before
Peculiarly entrusted
Possibly that's all

Is history recorded?
Does someone have a tape?
Surely, I'm no pioneer
Constellations stay the same

Just a little bit of danger
When intriguingly
Our little secret
Trust say, trust me

'Cause no one will ever know
That this was happening
So tell me why you listen
When nobody's talking?

Oh, what is there to know?
Oh, this is what it is
Oh, you and me alone
Sheer simplicity

Oh, what is there to know?
Oh, this is what it is
Oh, you and me alone
Sheer simplicity

Oh, what is there to know?
Oh, this is what it is

Oh, you and me alone
Sheer simplicity

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of The Kings of Convenience & Feist's song Know How express the feeling of two people who are enjoying being together in a simple and secret way. They are riding on their own experience and knowledge of each other, and although they may not be the first to experience this kind of situation, it feels unique and personal to them. They wonder if history is being recorded or if anyone has a tape of their moment, but realize that it doesn't matter, because their constellations will stay the same.

There is a little bit of danger in their secret, and they share a trusting relationship. They know that no one else will ever know about their moment together, so they question why they even need to talk about it. The simplicity of their moment is what makes it special, and they revel in the fact that there is nothing more to know or understand.

Overall, the lyrics convey a sense of intimacy and simplicity that is appealing in its honesty and authenticity. The simple melody and harmonies add to the feeling of shared experience and create a sense of closeness between the listener and the singers.

I’ll never forget the first time I heard this song. In the airport coming back from Seattle in 2005. I was hooked right there and then. As soon as I found out who the band was I ran out and bought this album. Every track is absolute gold and it gets played from time to time.

@fasttrack70

i first heard these guys in about 2002 i fell in love with them straight away

Meliksah Altuntas'in az TT'sinden duydum geldim.

Totalmente cierto. Cuando vienen a México.

@aramledezma4230

@paolarubio2817

Saludos.

@ElinGomezRonzon

@ezrimartinez5947

@cesarramirezsanchez6475

Saludos.

This is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard, and it made me want to quit my job and start a three-piece band where we sit around on the floor and play acoustic guitar. I haven't given up on that dream yet.
