I'm coming over
I'm making a new song
I pick a car and it's a fifteen minutes drive
Rock Classics on the radio
To clear my mind
Sometimes in the weekends
We meet up at our favourite cafe
I'll order a chai tea and you will have the usual au lait
And when the place get crowded
Then they freak out
And they play the techno louder
Yes, when the place get crowded
Then they freak out
And they play the techno louder
Here comes another day in isolation
Hold out your hand
Feel my brain burns
You suck and lick but you still don't know why
I could fuck your brains out
But I'm not interested in that life
Sometimes in the weekends
We meet up at our favourite cafe
I'll order a chai tea and you will have the usual au lait
And when the place get crowded
Then they freak out
And they play the techno louder
Yes, when the place get crowded
Then they freak out
And they play the techno louder

The Knife's song "Rock Classics" is a song that revolves around the theme of wanting to clear one's mind and find a new sense of creativity by listening to music. The lyrics "I'm coming over but I won't be long, I'm coming over, I'm making a new song" indicate that the singer is on the way to make music, while "I pick a car and it's a fifteen minutes drive, Rock Classics on the radio, to clear my mind" reveals that listening to classic rock music on the way helps the singer clear their thoughts and prepare for their songwriting process. The lyrics also describe the singer's experiences at a local cafe they often visit with a friend, where the music gets louder as the place gets crowded. The lyrics "Here comes another day in isolation, hold out your hand, feel my brain burns, you suck and lick but you still don't know why, I could fuck your brains out but I'm not interested in that life" suggest that the singer is quite uninterested in pursuing any sort of romantic or sexual interaction at this moment in their life, as their sole focus remains on creating new music.
Overall, the lyrics of "Rock Classics" speak to the idea of musicians using other's music to inspire their own creative processes, while also portraying the singer's desire for pure creative expression rather than pursuing a hedonistic lifestyle.

I learned to appreciate the knife with their album "silent shout" and I started listening to their older work, now it's one of my favourite bands of all time. God i love how they're one of the most rock 'n roll bands of our time, for them it's not just an image they have to hold high because their manager says so. Damn, they've written songs about incest, socialism/communism and female discrimination, I mean, how far can a band go to avoid mainstream success, they're fcking brilliant!
