1) The Knights were a 1960s band and the brainchild of producer Gary Usher to take advantage of the surf and hot rod music that was popular in the day. Featuring session players The Wrecking Crew including Glen Campbell and Tommy Tedesco on guitars, Leon Russell on keyboards and Hal Blaine on drums whose work can be heard on hundreds of '60s hits. Most the group's repertoire were covers of Beach Boys songs such as "I Get Around," though there were a few original songs, such as "Hot Rod High." They officially only released one album, "Hot Rod High" in 1964.

2) The Knights were also a 1980s rock band based out of Ohio.

I am... a full grown man, with two sons, that I adopted. I always wanted the best for them both. I remember watching this movie when it was first in theatres.
This scene, even before I had my boys, made me cry like a baby.
I cannot imagine the trust and faith this father had, to send his only child out into the medieval world to chance,... CHANCE,... his becoming more than a poor peasant.

What I found really touching is towards the end when Will's father is trying to touch him and it dawns on Will fully that hes completely blind. The look on Will's face is of guilt, as if he wishes he had been there for his father. His father of course, being who he is was so happy for Will to find what he was looking for.

It's sad to consider that both of these actors are no longer with us. The poignancy increases when you realise that Christopher Cazenove's son, Linford, was killed in a car crash two years before this film was made, in 1999. Impossible to watch this scene without crying.

For some reason this scene makes me remember something that happened with my late Dad many yrs ago. I had encountered a big strong man beating up his girlfriend, intervened and fought the man in a crazy battle while the girl escaped. I called my Dad and told him what happened, and he angrily told me how foolish it was was for me to take such a risk and how dangerous domestic disputes are and how I could have been seriously hurt or worse and should have instead got help. A month later I went to his office, and every person got up and walked over to congratulate me, and one man said "so you are the man, the man who risked his neck to save a woman from terrible harm. Allow me the honor of shaking your hand". I don't know what touched me more, my Dad having held back his pride from me because of his love and wanting me to be safe, or the realization then of how incredibly proud he was with me for stepping in. I love and miss him so much

Not to take away from such an incredible scene or anything, but I wonder how much of Christopher's own personal life and dealing with the tragic loss of his son just a couple years prior to the releasing of this movie really poured out of him here. I mean, I know he's an actor and plays this part exceptionally well, but I can't help but think that a lot of his emotions here are very VERY real, especially his reaction to when "Ulrich" says that his son lives. It felt so...cathartic, in a way. I can't get over how powerful this is.

A truly wonderful, beautiful scene. I find that this scene becomes more and more impactful for me the older I become. And it never fails to make me cry D:
